Put out a ballot to see if the pilot group would like to set up their own in-house association which would be recognized by the Department of Labor. More money in the short term as far as expenses go, but better internal control in the long run. No outside representatives with other interests to influence your group.

Every ALPA-represented pilot group that is currently operating under a concessionary CBA is doing so under a CBA that was ratified by the pilot group. We'll see in the coming week or two what happens with Mesaba...

If you want to 'blame' ALPA, blame your MEC, your Local, your fellow pilots and yourself. If you want things to change in Herndon, *****ing on a message board won't do it. You've got to invest the time to attend LEC meetings, make a motion, get your group motivated and push for reform.

Seems like everybody wants things to change but nobody is willing to make the financial, time, or personal investment to make it so...

Never forget that when you change Unions, one of the options on the ballot is "No Union."

Sometimes total decertification is the result of an attempt to change horses in the middle of the stream.

Couldn't agree more. Laziness affords you nothing but spare time.

The only way to get rid of the contract is to vote the ALPA out in one vote then come back and vote your in house or Teamsters. In reality we need ALPA but with a stronger leader and more national standards on contracts.

All of the ALPA carriers have taken huge paycuts. Haven't heard the same from those in Herndon.

You can change your representation with one vote. It doesn't require tearing one down and starting over. Your existing contract will still be in force.
You are out ouf touch and mis informed. Who do you work for HALIN TEXAS?
