Ok, I'll take the bait. For what its worth, I would have to say about 90 percent of us were totally against extending the daily flight hours, including myself. We thought it was a tremendous waste of company resources, and didnt do anything for safety, no matter what doctor they hired to oversee the little project. In my opinion, if the industry was truly interested in safety, we would all fight to have the 16 hour duty day reduced. I honestly dont know any of the pilots that participated. Its my understanding that the company was attempting to be able to utilize a crew with a relief officer to do a transcon turn. Before you guys jump all over the JB guys as being the lowest form of slime in the industry, keep in mind we are YOU. We are Delta, UsAir, American, TWA, Northwest, etc etc. Most of us are transplants from YOUR FABULOUS Carriers. For what its worth, most of us are sick and tired of our low wages, terrible benefits, terrible disability, and outrageous medical premiums and are waging our own internal wars to increase our benefit packages to a respectable standard. If and when we go out of business, I wonder how many of you hiding behind your avatars will have the ballZ to look a jetBlue guy in the face and say the same things you do on here. You just might be saying that to a guy your company put on the street. Talk to a few of us JB people and learn the facts before you bash the pilots as a whole. Just reading some of the responses makes me embarrassed for our profession. I'd like to think we could progress together. Take a look at your own paystubs. Bet it doesnt look as good as it did 10 years ago. It is what it is. Try and keep it professional guys. Were just trying to feed our kids, and work as a team to get our pay and benefits up to something respectable. As far as the testing, the FAA Approved it. It is a miscommunication at their level, albeit it doesnt make it right. Again, most of us didnt approve of the program and still dont.

Your comments are all good ones, and you are right---we should be a bit more professional, and also understand that taking care of your family is the #1 priority. Now that all being said, let's keep things in perspective and realize that this forum is full of trash talking back and forth. Boyz will be boyz and all.
I know that many guys from the legacy airlines feel "left behind" by ALPA, but have you guys looked at organizing at all? It's about the only way things will improve there and elsewhere. For many of the other carriers it's tough to bargin when the company is in the crapper, but what about you guys. There seems to be a real anti-union sentament there. I don't see things getting fixed until you guys pull together and say enough is enough.

Dude, If you really are the co's. your post says you are than how could JB guys really try to make the industry even crappier than what it is. It sounds like the kinda talk I would hear from a non-member! They always have an excuse; family, kids college, etc. the bottom line is GREED! If what you say is true about the majority of the JB guys being against this, why would the 90% of you act like lemmings and follow the minority
sorry but just my .02
