I, truly, hope you succeed in both of these objectives but I fear that you won't have the top 50% protect both.

Kind of wondering, are all you scope or die warriors going to send 1/3 of your pay to the deadzoners who have lost so much and have very little time or chance of recovery? Or are they just collateral damage? Just what is the plan for them? Or is it a secret? Inquiring minds and all...
I sense anger in your post. You are addressing the entitlement generation in a VERY entitled way.

Some of the knitting club are the same age as deadzoners, they chose a different path in life. I'm pushing 50. I fly with 777 captains who are a few years older than me and very few (some) who are younger. The paradigm changed on all of us. We didn't cause it to change (all pilots).

Age 65 gave 5 more years to the deadzoners which it took away from the progression of others.

Your angst is misdirected. Circumstances in life are what they are. Everyone is trying to make lemonade, everyone.

I thought about answering Stagger's post, but couldn't come up with a calm, rational response. The best I can come up with in this case is Scambo speaks for me

Stagger - nobody's out to get you. The contract needs to be an improvement for ALL Delta pilots. I want YOU to be happy with the result as much as I do myself. I hope (think) you feel the same way.

No, they stated details would not be released until the MEC votes. That can be anytime in the next 7 days.

Does today include the int'l date line?

We might get some mec meeting details. Frankly, I don't want the reps rushing this TA business. I want them to take their time and do everything right. I am hopeful that our reps can see around some of the blind corners that all contracts have and also send it back if it isn't superfly.

I would say the collateral damage is the FO that has been stuck at a regional eating Ramen on $20,000 to $30,000 a year for the last 5 years of seniority stagnation. It's a little easier raising a family on a mainline paycheck vs $1500 a month at a regional.
