Dal came to us!!!

All business decision that only help us because it's an attempt to create a SUSTAINABLE business model. Those decisions only help us gain more as well. If we never merged with NWA, we would not even be getting the pay raise we have received thus far (53% from 2008 through the end of the TA if it passes). What other pilot group can say that? There's still more coming but the business HAS to be able to support it or we will lose it all again. What's so difficult about that? Do you want to go through that again seeking after a pie in the sky lottery payout? The management folks are doing their job (and a good ne in my eyes) of creating a company that generates SUSTAINED profitability. If you wanted to make what they make, you should've checked the box that had management next to it but I guarantee you wouldn't like the job because it's never over. You wont have 4-6 days off at a time.
Whenever I see a post during contract negotiations that praises management and encourages your colleagues to be reasonable and accept whatever they are offered, I naturally find that very disturbing.
Make no mistake: As a UAL pilot I fully support all DAL pilots and have a sincere desire that you achieve an industry leading contract in all areas (especially scope) as soon as possible.

T you seem like you need to take a breather, you're really hot under the collar as of late. Don't let this stuff get the best of you.
Ps football season is getting closer so that'll help :-)

You actually wrote up a pretty clear piece on your thought process in one of these threads, it made sense and showed where you were coming from.
You have to explain to me/us how a no is foolish though.
I can see how you view a yes as practical, but not how a no is foolish.

The title of this thread sums it up perfectly....DAL came to us!!! It's just my opinion, but I believe (and so do many others) that this TA was reached so early because RA has a plan B, C, and D in his back pocket. They are prepared for us to vote NO, so they can come back to the table with plan B. I don't think mgmt wants this thing to drag on any longer than we do.
Also, has anyone else heard anything about this TA being approved by the negotiating commitee before the proposed pay rates were presented to the MEC? Is that even possible?

No, flew with an MEC committee type who was called in to see the TA at the same time the MEC was seeing it, ie prior to the MEC vote. He had seen the pay rates just couldn't talk about anything until after the MEC vote.

The best part is that this is a 3 year deal.
And I am still waiting for someone to show me who will trump this deal before we are in the next negotiations. Anyone? Bueller?

That pretty much says it all.
You know that the scope is concessionary, but it's all about "me" (with you).
You want the money.
Nobody believes that more jumbo RJ's helps scope. You need to stop trying to sell that line of bull.
