Dir of Flt ops @ AS is Ret DAL CP and VP or Something or Other....But my feeling is that he isn't the Mole. As said over & over...AS is a Free Milk situation. It sucks for DAL pilots (loss of flying) but the DAL Mngt LOVES it. I think RA needs the TA done so he has hard #'s to goto the bank w/ for future purchases (a/c or AIRLINE.)

Agree that is step one. ALK is part of it somewhere but I do not logically think you buy the connecting lift before you make sure you can keep the o and d out of NRT. Only three ways ALK works first. JAL JV in the works. 315 net slots get moved to HND or we have a ton of 330's and 787's coming to fly the connecting traffic from the west coast to points throughout Asia and Oceania. (HAA fits in there too and makes sense for Asian access if you are going to give up the Asian O and D at some point.

That's not true. That's not the tsquare I know.

Carl I was appalled and stunned after reading what you just quoted so I clicked the link and now I'm shaking my head even more after reading the preceding few sentences.

I do not understand the bold part at all.

It's the classic "rocking chair" mentality that some pilots have. It's simply the belief that the company is ultimately always right, and there's nothing that can be done by a labor group to force the company to do something they don't want to do. It's a basic disbelief in unionism, and a basic belief in "trickle down" after management has eaten their full.

A potential Delta-Alaska tie-up may be more about denying a massive portion of American's restructuring strategy, thereby tenderizing AA even further.

I think you are right.

Sure will suck if we turn this down only to find out it WOULD have been a big widebody order.

Not that the company is always right Carl, but they ARE always in control. We might have the illusion of control for a short period of time now and then, but RA does and will always call the shots. To believe otherwise is naive.

Of course you don't understand it because you have no clue what the TA really says vice what the BK contract we are currently in says...
