Additional Supplemental Bid just opened, covers all training to be completed by May 1 2013. Roughly 71 open FO slots as a result of the bid after considering CA upgrades. Good sign for anyone in the pool, get your towel ready.
Also, any idea how far in advance they'll announce class dates? Thanks. |

Does "all training to be completed by 1 May 2013" include IOE, or is it schoolhouse training to be completed by then?

Thanks. I'm in the middle of the pool anxiously waiting for the call.

Unfortunately, the company has now put this website as private, and as an employee I dont even have access to it anymore. So much for transparency and trying to help newhires budget the health care costs for 1st year pay. I am glad a few people got to view it, and sorry for those who didnt.

Does anyone know how many E190 FOs are out there that are still under their initial seat lock of 24 months? I imagine some of them will stay on the 190 for better lines, days off, etc, even after the lock is up. Anyone have any theories on that?
Last question (for now) is what's the minimum reserve rotation in terms of days on? Could I go as low as 4 on at a time, understanding that would increase my commuting a lot. |

Minimum days in a row is 3, but if you want a chance at Long Call (14hrs) or an early release on your last day then you have to work at least a 4-day stretch of days. |

Lots of E190 hiring in the past 2 years, so some are just coming off their serat locks. I doubt many of them will be jumping ship unless they live in a base city like LGB/FLL. I dont think it will be a mass exodus. There is probably more chance of E190 FOs leaving from the top end to upgrade to A320/E190 CA spots.

This is the problem. JB is a step up. It is not the end all, get all. Not really sure what is these days. Maybe a general contractor.
Here are the facts... Every other major airline, many regional airlines and most fractionals have better health care than JB. Some are much better. Our healthcare "benefits" have been whittled down to basically catastrophic insurance and the pilots have absolutely no say or negotiating power to change it. While the company has improved the retirement contribution we still lag behind industry average (which is where they said we would be). Remember Rob Maruster's video, "We fixed it!" (5+5+3=18). Retirement numbers are roughly 110 over the next 10 years. That's less than 5% of the seniority list over 10 years. Compare that with the other extreme of US East where 50% will be gone in 5 years, 85% in 10 years. Very few captains (of the 1200 or so that was previously quoted) will ever leave here until they are forced to by age or medical condition. Obviously this is my speculation. If you come here with little or no PIC turbine/jet you may very well be stuck for the rest of your career. Maybe not such a bad thing if this is really where you want to be. If you do come here, please consider our shortfalls. Inform yourself and please vote for the pilots to have the power to negotiate our compenstation package so that we can make things better for all our pilots. GP

I said this million times before, some pilots come from regional bottom feeder with little or no benefits, with little or no PIC, and think of B6 as an upgrade. The tradition thinking of hiring experienced pilots with captain experience or armed forces service, is gone. B6 needs those guys so they will accept any BS put out by JB. Our CEO video shows how much they care about your health: just go to the gym like Dave does and don't look at $ amount of health care, take care of yourself, and you don't need health care. |
