Delta TA Passes

But that last statement is so disingenuous it's ridiculous. Yeah right, at 52 years old I "can break right at any time." GMAB. You know as well as I do that the seniority system and lack of ability to make lateral moves in this industry makes your statement... well, like I said before... ridiculous. Been there, done that, got the t-shirt... it was hard enough at 38, it's completely impractical at 52.
And just so you know... If this was virtually any other kind of profession where an individual can take his/her experience, work ethic, and reputation for quality work and go where it is appreciated and valued, I can guarantee you I would have been long gone from Delta way back in about 2005. But you and I both know that is not possible, and you and I know exactly why.
Having said all that (and like I said before), I'm done with this argument. You guys won the day with bankruptcy level buying power as the new baseline for traditional improvement. At this point I'm just along for the ride. And I'm going to enjoy the ride because:
1 - I still love doing this job and I take a lot of pride in doing it well.
2 - I like working with the (mostly) quality people here at Delta.
So, just in case there are any misunderstandings... I want Delta to succeed. I'm going to do everything within my power to help Delta succeed. I'm not going to sacrifice in even the smallest way the professionalism that I bring to the table every time I show up. Delta's going to get out of me exactly what they hired me for, even if they are getting it at an extreme bargain. So take your "if you don't like it, leave" condescending remarks and shove them up...... okay, I better stop there.

Like I said before... Good luck with your quest for mediocrity. Thanks for dragging me along with you (not).

I really have no desire to get into a big argument over this. It's over. The damage is done.

Well guess what... 62% of the pilot group didn't agree with the "just say no" crowd, and they are every bit as smart as you or I. No one needs to be frustrated or angry though. Our system, no matter how imperfect, worked. And not a 6 week TA ratification period is going to fix our issues. It needs to be a grass roots, internal, pilot to pilot, reinvention of our culture if we want to avoid this again.
But T is right. Passive aggressive attitudes will oh get us AMR + 10%.

At the conclusion of this contract, we will have enjoyed a 53% pay raise since 2009. Is that not much of a pay raise? Also at the conclusion of this Contract, we will be within 20% of C2K rates. Is that just peanuts also? Heck, even in todays dollars, C2K rates are stellar wouldn't you agree?

How do you figure? 70 more CRJ-900s, spread probably over at least 3 or 4 regional airlines. Then subtract 240+ CRJ-200s from current regional airlines, like Pinnacle, Comair, Skywest, and ASA. Re-do the math.

It's easier to take the planes from Comair and pinnacle, not so much from Skywest because we own or lease the planes, Delta doesn't pay for them.
