Unfortunately I only play one on TV!
And a cancelled one at that!!
As far as grievences go, I think there is definitely a difference in the way DALPA and NWALPA pursued them. My impression is that NWALPA used a more "shotgun" type approach while DALPA used/uses a "sniper" type approach. I'm not saying one is better than the other just that DALPA has a tendency to only pursue those grievences they feel they have a 90% chance or better they can win it. (Again, my impression only)
With a hard number ratio that one can put in front of an arbitrator and show that the company is in violation, in my mind, it's a no brainer to pursue. I guess time will tell.

The thing that would make me happy to be wrong about is that the last NNP put out about the company's business plan that showed a need (with retirements and growth) of over 2900 pilots by 2016 would be fine. In order to hit that the company would have to start hiring this fall and keep hiring through the duration of this contract.

Everybody is going to have 'mo money and 'mo time off too!
I think that VA or the other VA are going to end up in a JV with us, and we are going to be very glad we have protections on that front.

One huge concern I have with this deal is the precedent we just set:
We will play nicely during negotiations if you promise new airplanes. Unless there are some too good to pass up deal or M&A activity, we may not hear anything about the so called "wide body" order until we start approaching the next amendable date. Then we'll hear the new WBs will only work if they had more 76 seaters to feed them. Hope I'm wrong.

I also suspect V Atlantic will become one was well. One of two possibilities. They become part of a three way AFKLMAZ, DAL, VA deal and we got ourselves 37.5% of all of that flying outside of the JV in the new PWA......

That would be full throttle this year and beyond. Esp if you are stating that by 270 days prior to the opener. Max is 25% of their list a year.

I hope you are right, too. But man up like everyone else did and say you threshold realistically for admitting you probably voted the wrong way.

Frankly, there will be avid hiring for the 717's and retirements. Much of it will start later next year. The loss of the positions will be hard to break down in a SLI, but they will be there.
In the end it does not matter, we agreed to it.

The rest of your post is paranoid speculation. Enjoy the moment we have now.. It is a nice win.
