I wish I had gotten the 190, I would have stayed on it till I would have held a line on the airbus. Lineholder is always better than reserve even if the pay is lower.

I didn't know that, I hope its true, it would be a bummer to take a two buck an hour pay cut because of a merger

1. It is absolutely confirmed to be true that those on the property prior to the POR are grandfathered at the higher E190 pay rate. Anyone starting after Monday will be on MOU pay. Nobody takes a pay cut in this - straight from Dean Colello.

2. Under the AA CBA first-year pilots don't get DC contributions. Those on property prior to POR will continue to receive them first year, while those hired after don't start receiving until first anniversary.

3. Scheduling Committee says there WILL be another Permanent Bid coming soon ... probably for April, if not then May. Need more positions on the widebody fleets for summer flying.

Well this, plus the first year pay being grandfathered, is awesome news! Couple more questions...are we covered by the 'furlough protection' clause, whatever it really means? And, do we get any vacation for 2014?

I have been extremely impressed my first two days here...a class act!

Don't know about the "furlough protection", but you will not get any vacation your first year.

Questions:

Current first year DC 10%. Will those on property see the 14/16% or just stay 10% until 1st anniversary?

Current 1st year bus= $3K/Month
MOU $40.00*73=$2,920/Month

First year bus grandfathered?

Yes, the Airbus/Boeing $3,000 per month will hold until your anniversary date in 2014 if you were hired prior to 12/9/13. I believe they said that you would keep the 10% D.C. as well. I'm pretty sure it doesn't go up to 16% because AA's first year is $40/hr with no D.C. I could very well be wrong. Please correct me if I am.

Welcome aboard PSUPilot!!! You and your class mates are covered by furlough protection.

Page 7 of the MOUv2 that should become effect December 9th, 2013:
For those who seek such detail, here?s the full MOU with USAPA and APA | Dallas Morning News

11. a. During the term of the MTA, US Airways shall not furlough any pilots who have established
and maintain seniority on the US Airways mainline system as of the Effective Date.
USAPA will
provide, by name, East Pilot “X” and West Pilot “Y” who will be the most junior US Airways pilots
afforded this furlough protection.
US Airways shall not furlough any such pilot in anticipation of the
transaction that results in the formation of New American Airlines or of the operationally merged
carrier consisting of New American Airlines and US Airways. The parties intend that this furlough
protection will be part of the status quo during contract negotiations pursuant to Section 6 of the
Railway Labor Act for a successor agreement to the JCBA.

b. New American Airlines shall not furlough any pilots during the term of the MTA whose
names appear on the American Airlines’ Pilots System Seniority List as of the Effective Date and who
are not: (i) on furlough as of the Effective Date; (ii) junior to the least senior active pilot on the
Effective Date. This protection includes American Eagle pilots with American Airlines seniority
numbers when they flow up and become active employees at New American Airlines and who are
senior to the most junior active pilot on the Effective Date. The parties intend that this furlough
protection will be part of the status quo during contract negotiations pursuant to Section 6 of the
Railway Labor Act for a successor agreement to the JCBA.
The most junior US Airways pilot in this last Monday's, December 2, 2013 class should be the last pilot to retain furlough protection and be immune to any "results in the formation of New American Airlines or of the operationally merged carrier consisting of New American Airlines and US Airways."

The merged carriers stand to benefit from a lot of international growth.
