Can you quote that? I don't remember the company stating their position in those concrete terms and forgive me if I don't just take your word for it.

Unfortunately I think you are right. Some on the east are jumping up and down, thinking they won. Won what? Barring an American merger they just won another 5-10 years on LOA93. If there is no American merger, once hiring fires up at other airlines, I see a mass exodus of junior west FO's and bankruptcy wages on the east for a looong time to come.

So where does that leave Parker ?
Sounds like his best bet is to kick the can for 5 years while east pilots gradually flop over while waiting for another option to present itself. If we clear C11 with a CBA and this management still in charge, it will be this management that calls the shots on AA's future, for better or worse and U may not be in that plan.

The East pilots wanted a fence, and that is what they have effectively done. They had a higher average age, and those guys start rolling out at the end of the year, leaving those seats to be occupied by East pilots and new hires on that side of the fence. Sure, the pay hit sucks from no contract, but if you were facing a 5-6 wait to upgrade/re-upgrade at the current rates, versus never (with the SLI) with a %20 raise, my bet is guys hope that it remains fenced for a long time.

It's all emotion, no facts. The east get's 3 out of every four upgrades on the nicolau award, yet they demand 4 out of 4. The few that upgrde will do so to $124 an hour (what fo's get paid everywhere else), the vast majority will toil at very low pay and the worst work rules in the industry.

My post had nothing to do with me believing anything. That decision will ultimately be made by others. Should a stand alone plan occur, to say AA will back back in BK or liquidate before "the ink is even dry" on a POR is ludicrous. Under this managements philosophies and based on the past, yes, I believe AA would be at excessive risk for future , but that would take several years to happen.
