The FA "need" to be up there for a few minutes during the potty break in case that's the one in a billion flights where the other pilot becomes incapacitated at exactly that brief time frame can be removed with the stroke of a pen. They don't ever truly "have" to be up there, and they never have the controls. Pilots do have to be up there, all the time, and they always have the controls.
FA's in KCM is about airline managements accepting an acceptable yet clearly an additional risk by offering a large labor group a free gimme in exchange for a certain degree of labor peace by supressing a portion of the Bolshevik "me too!" mentality over a percieved benefit. Nothing more.

Remember, every dollar that it costs the company in a "me too!" thing for the flight attendants is a dollar that comes out of OUR negotiation capital when trying to get said item and a dollar that is no longer available from the company for our own gains.
Thats starting to get off topic though. The topic here is the fact that its obvious why pilots should have KCM. It isn't obvious why FAs should. And its going to suck when some FA screws it up for everyone.

Yep, this "me too!" thing they have needs to be reigned in. They're not the same employee group as pilots. Just because we work together doesn't mean they should be treated how we are.

Those are extra seats that would be otherwise unoccupied outside of the secure flight deck. Pretty dumb to not make them available. FAs get priority on them, so no entitlement there.

Hey, you're taken over for me! Please STOP making such sense! This isn't the first time the KCM debate has come up on here and it's not only sad, but pretty telling (and pathetic) what "fellow" crew members think and feel about other crew members. Betcha a dollar they NEVER express their vitriol and paranoia to their faces.
