ALPA will not win the next drive. 80%+ of new hires (yes several hundred) have no interest and will join the same no voters from last time. Wasn't the claim during the last vote ALPA was "guaranteed" to crush it. I saw a lot of disbelief when that went down in flames.
I agree with this to only some degree. I am 6 months with the company and I would say more than half of my class are pro union, at least from what I have gathered . Some cards already sent in. If at the very least most of us junior guys want merger protection with detailed language .. The tough part is many guys coming from regionals which got shafted from alpa aren't too fond of alpa. |
ALPA didn't screw them. They company that cut their paychecks did.

ALPA on a Major level works.....some agree some don't but it does. ALPA at a regional not so much. You can't have one union representing two carriers who compete for the same contracts. So ALPA signs off on airline x for say a cost off 10 bucks an hour and later signs off on airline y for 9 bucks an hour. Y ALPA just undercut X ALPA. Now Y carrier has huge growth because they can do it cheaper while X airline stagnates. If ALPA would demand the same pay and contracts thats the only way they could represent both x and y airlines. |
Well our latest PAR email should help some more. Industry average is not to pay you more to fly a 321. Once again JetBlue cherry picks. While industry average is higher pay, better insurance, vacation and merger protection that's not how the low cost model works at JetBlue. Less is acceptable and therefore industry average is key. Makes me sick.
And by the way "their" lawyers claim you are indemnified. Thats comforting. |
Their lawyers also said that the 3 a claim was invalid, jetblue doesn't fly cargo, and stock options will make you a millionaire... Well that last one didn't come from a lawyer, but you smell what your stepping in?

If you want to raise ALL A320 pay, fine, but not JUST the A321. I haven't read my email yet, but if the company has now said publicly that you are legally covered to fly the A321, then I would think they would have a VERY hard time getting out of it in court, assuming they would actually do that in the first place. |

I have the WORST healthcare in the industry. I have below average retirement. I want more to fly the 321 period. Industry average in all other areas and then I will make a concession to fly the 321 for the same pay. |

Fighting for a payrate that is against industry norms and benefits a small minority is selfish and shows who some of you guys really are. |
