Not everyone's perspective is the same. I have seen UAL hire until they layoff twice. In March 2008 I was almost a part of it. I can't leave a company that has never furloughed a pilot for that kind of hiring plan. Yes JB has a questionable future but so does this entire industry. Good luck to you as well.

I'm not arguing with your logic but keep in mind JetBlue hasn't furloughed because it has never needed to. It's a myth JetBlue would have gone bankrupt without the Lufthansa cash infusion. The 10K report proved that.

Does anyone know if very low time guard guys with just enough hours for ATP's have a chance of landing a gig in the next few years with the expected "growth" and some guys jumping ship? I know that's hard to guess, but I'm looking at what's going in the regionals because that's probably the only places that will take low hour guys by the time I get the ATP, but it doesn't hurt to look around regardless.

Apply everywhere! You have as good a chance as any. Use all your resources and every one you know.

Here's a question for both sides of the isle. Would you go to US Airways from JetBlue? Why?/Why not? Add to the argument the potential with and without the AA merger.
It seems like the movement here is slow at best. I know there are a lot of ex-USAir FO's that are now senior CA's here at JB, it now seems the same movement issues they faced are being confronted by current JB junior FO's. What is JB doing to keep junior FO's around? I am not talking the pipe dream of A330's, or the planned expansion (subject to change) or the old banter of a CBA/Union (which has been turned down twice). What is being done to make this a career airline? |

All airlines are a gamble.
Just a few days ago Airways guys thought they had it made now what? There is movement at JetBlue only Spirit is getting more planes than us. I have moved up pretty quick and its 3 years to a 190 RESERVE captain. Just remember the Airways guys were furloughed they didn't come here for movement. |

ALPA ALPA ALPA. Why is it ALPA pilots b*tch about ALPA so much the same as we do about the D R and every other airline complains about what they have. Try to pay attention to other carriers. Pilots are bailing from ALPA as fast as they can for a reason.
We need a cba? Yes. Representation? Yes. ALPA? I don't know. ALPA isn't a nonprofit out to just help pilots. They do what's in their best interest which doesn't usually line up with what the majority of pilots best interest is Yes, here's a 'not complaining' ALPA pilot. Best of luck to you guys on your next drive. |
