Jetblue movement...
My vote counts the same as yours. That must burn you up.

I really don't like this argument. It is a distraction that will take away from getting an improved rate on the A320. One good rate for both will suffice for me as we have A LOT of other issues that we need to put to bed.
Southerner, it is easy to confuse passion for thuggery on here because you can't hear inflection in the written word. Most of our guys are great and want nothing more than to work for a strong company. We have had a lot taken from us over the years so guys will latch on to anything. A CBA is the only way out of this mess. |

So in 6 months of being here you think we should ask for industry standard? How novel.
We've been fighting for that since the PVC was first created, before the PCG, PCG2, PCRB(all three years), and every other recent acronym used to confuse the pilot group. Meanwhile pilots like you who have absolutely no clue what is going on come on board and tell those of us who have been through all this that ALPA and unions are bad. Why, because you got hired at a regional when you shouldn't have and when ALPA failed to provide you mainline pay and benefits, which you didn't deserve, you rang the "ALPA screwed me" bell. I don't agree with bluedriver all that often but atleast the guy has been here more than 6 months. |

A CBA is the only way out of this mess. As someone with dealings with ALPA national, it is my opinion we don't want them. Why is Delta trying to get rid of them? Think about it. I'm a NO vote for ALPA. Plain and simple. I do think a CBA would fix some things, but I'm just not going to vote yes to them. Ever. Period. I wavered a bit on this, and I almost changed my mind, but I've come back to my original position. So, someone start a drive for in- house. I'll support it. I'm not a fan on unions in general, but I will support in- house. I think an in-house would win this time around. By leaps and bounds. Most captains I fly with would vote yes to in-house. |

I hear you. I've yet to run into anyone out flying who is a jerk. Sure, we may differ a bit on the solution, but we all can agree that things can improve.

I've been thinking that for some about a few of these new guys/girls. Seems like yesterday they were just hoping to get a call for class and now their the experts all jetblue.

An in house won't have the horsepower to get anything accomplished. ALPA is tried and true, we will not get the "first rodeo" symtoms that JetBlue is famous for.
They also don't require the start up capital that an in house will require. We will each be assessed a few thousand dollars for those costs just to get an organization going. This will equate to years before our first CBA. The best move for us is to vote for a national union and obtain a CBA as fast as possible. We don't have time to spare with the merger landscape the way it is. If you are still unhappy at that time look to decertify the union. Just like delta was doing (they are no longer seeking to do so). |
Delta is trying to get rid of them?
No a minority of delta pilots are trying to get rid of them and have been for over 2 years. If a majority of delta pilots wanted this it would be done already but the reality is that a majority of Delta pilots still see the value in ALPA over an in house. And None of them would tell you they would accept the DR over ALPA and that is your position Southern. |
well, more than half of the Delta pilots signed a card for a new union. However those cards do expire so theyre making phone calls to people like me to send in a new card. if people do and its more than half we will have a vote... I guess.

Let me ask you this FTB. How many delta pilots do you think would prefer no CBA over having ALPA? |
