Is that a simple enough explanation for you?
Yes, simple. But it isn't that simple. The UNION has agreed to accept the Jumpseat agreements with non-union carriers, so...
Forget it, no changing your mind, I know.

Actually, you're wrong. CASS is an interairline agreement. That's Management to Management. ALPA "suggests" we allow them on the jumpseat because ALPA eventually wants their dues money. Personally, I don't give a c*ap about that. And they aren't getting a ride...

Period.

Is it because they don't have a union?

I have a lot to learn about this industry.

Well, then allow me to ask... does the system owe you a cheap seat?

if the system is partly made of pilots, then so long as they have a voice and it's unified, the price of their labor should be held high as possible (with in reason) and that cost needs to be passed on to you as their service.

Otherwise, why should I pay a lawyer or doctor for his time?

Why not get Walmart to outsource their services to India or China and let the free market dictate their worth?

What does dues money, and jumpseat agreements with no-union carriers have to do with one another?
Inter airline agreement? Huh? We have an LOA with our company to have CASS.
You sir are a bitter man.

Saudi Arabia and other Arab states flooding the country with arms / money in order to defeat the Iranian elements / influence.
That would be far, far, far more initiative and interest in their well being than they have ever shown.

The reality is if the Iranians took over (like they want to...and remember Iranians are PERSIAN which is different from the ARABS on the West side of the lake) most folks would just go about their business....look at Iraq under the Baathists (which were allied with Nazi Germany in WWII) and the distinct lack of effort anyone showed to make life better even though Sunni Arabs were in charge....except for the Iranian (Persian) Shi'ites (who are different ethnically from the Arab Shi'ites) such as that punk Al Sadr and his cronies (Saddam whacked his Dad/Uncle not because of their religious beliefs like Al-Jihad would have you believe, but because they were supporting IRAN in the war). And Saddam took care of them after we realized they were PERSIAN and the US reneged on our promise to support them after DS.

Nothing is a simple as it seems, there's 600+ years of bad blood between all 3 parties, and we (those of us there in 2003) said that if I were Sunni, I'd pack up the family and move to Saudi because payback was coming....
