Man, we need a bigger military. Oh, that's right, Republicans don't want any taxes to pay for that or any other government program.

Something of a quandry...Hmm...How about if we declare victory, bring the boys home and let the ragheads smoke each other? Of course, that might have negative consequences for Halliburton's business enterprises in Iraq. CEO Dick Cheney won't like that. Or is he VPUS? Which pays more?
According to NYT POTUS will increase troops in Iraq by 30K - we will be at 165K troops in Iraq (up from 135K at present) for the next two years.

Army is extending tours from by 3 months, and the Marines are now going to do 9 month combat tours in Iraq.

If the US is unable to contain / mitigate the violence in Iraq you may have Saudi Arabia and other Arab states flooding the country with arms / money in order to defeat the Iranian elemetns / influence.

Increasing troops in my opinion is a bad idea. It will make the Iraq less able / willing to stand up and provide for its own security. We may be creating a dependency in the Middle-East and that will be a total disaster.

The WalMartization of the airline industry is driven by two things:

1. The American public doesn't want to pay for anything (that's why WalMart is so big).

2. Some people will suffer any indignity to get a job. They'll work for substandard wages and benefits (the OTHER reason why WalMart is so big).

Greedy managers will prey on the ignorance of those who will debase themselves. Curious how the common thread is the Rah! Rah! attitude demonstrated by the Kool-Aid drinkers employed by those companies, be it B6, VX or WalMart.

They work for substandard wage/benefit packages while the Walton family consistently heads the list of the world's richest individuals. So, who is the sucker in this picture?

Not to light your incredibly short fuse, V, but that's an extremely ironic comment coming from you! I've read your posts and in 99% of them you refer to fellow pilots as "scabs, sc*m, and sc*mbags." Now that's rich!! So, now I guess you'll call me a name, too. Be careful, dear.

Don't ask for a jumpseat.

Are you serious? Arguing with you is pointless...because most of what I've seen is you just like to tell people how they're not riding in your jumpseat, they're a cancer on the industry blah blah blah. Sadly enough, I agree with most of what you're saying regarding the whole union/non-union thing. I'm just amazed that you enjoy the fact you can f*ck up someone's commute home a lil' too much.

Not as amazed as I am that B6 scum can undercut my contract and then ask me for a free ride on my jet. Now, that's ballsy.

Honey, those aren't names, they're descriptions. Curious how uncomfortable B6 jokers get when you hold the mirror up to their actions, isn't it?

IF:
Reducing troops is a bad idea
AND:
the status quo isn't working

How can increasing the number of troops be a bad idea?

Sweetie, the point IS you say that people resort to name-calling when they can't win an argument, and that's EXACTLY what you do -- name call!! I'm not arguing with your union position, frankly, it doesn't affect me one way or the other. It's just that your tone is ALWAYS nasty and confrontational. As my late, dear mother would say, "you catch more bees with honey than with vinegar" or something like that. You get the point now??!!

Did you read my opinion? I explain how increasing troops, in my opinion, is a bad idea. We need to get the Iraqis ready to take control of their own security not do it for them...

Why are the old Baathists not being welcomed back into the military / security services?

Darling, I get the point. Ever consider that I rattle the B6 cage simply to get a rise out of them?

Of course my other agenda is to get every Union Captain on board with the "deny B6 jumpseats" program. Would you give a child molester a ride to your daughter's elementary school? Of course not.

Then why would you give someone actively undercutting your contract making your quality of life suffer a ride to work so he can continue whacking you?
