[QUOTE=Velocipede;93016]Darling, I get the point. Ever consider that I rattle the B6 cage simply to get a rise out of them?

[QUOTE]

Oh, I get it NOW! So what you're trying to say is outside of this forum, you are actually a mild-mannered, fun-loving, laid-back, sweetheart of a guy!?

Yes I read it. I didn't really think the reasoning stood on it's own.

We're already well into the process of handing things over to the Iraqi's FOR THE SECOND TIME and it's not going as well as we'd like. The first went went bad because we rushed it and didn't stabilize the situation. If we rush it again we're just setting ourselves up for another setback and escalation.

As far as de-Baathisfication, I think it's the biggest mistake of the entire conflict...but that doesn't mean that the right answer for now, isn't more boots on the ground.

Of course my other agenda is to get every Union Captain on board with the "deny B6 jumpseats" program. Would you give a child molester a ride to your daughter's elementary school? Of course not.

Then why would you give someone actively undercutting your contract making your quality of life suffer a ride to work so he can continue whacking you?
So you don't give anyone a ride, right? If it's someone else that works for less than you, they will be undercutting you. If it's someone else who makes more than you, then it's competition, so you shouldn't give them a ride. NO JUMPSEATS AT ALL!!! LIVE IN YOUR BASE!!!

Apparently, reading for comprehension isn't your strong suit. There are all kinds of Union contracts out there. Some pay more (SWA), some pay less (Spirit).

However, all are negotiated, agreed to and ratified by their respective memberships. What sticks in my craw is the non-Union types who accept employment at low wages/no benefits. Then they come around and ask Union pilots for Union negotiated benefits (jumpseats).

Is that a simple enough explanation for you?

Greedy managers will prey on the ignorance of those who will debase themselves. Curious how the common thread is the Rah! Rah! attitude demonstrated by the Kool-Aid drinkers employed by those companies, be it B6, VX or WalMart.

They work for substandard wage/benefit packages while the Walton family consistently heads the list of the world's richest individuals. So, who is the sucker in this picture?
Velocipede

Let's change that to-"The American public doesn't want to pay for me". Do you owe me a living? Say yes and guess I might say I guess I owe you one.

And let's change it to "Some people will suffer any indignity to feed themselves or their family".

Understand the bulk of America struggles to get by. This is a competitive capitalist system. If I want to save money and fly JetBlue, SWA, or AirTran and save MY money- I don't owe you jack.

If you find my product not to your liking or too costly- don't buy it. That's called competition in a free market system. And believe me, I'm no fan of WalMart.

Guys, I think Velocipede makes a good point with regards to not giving the J/S to a pilot working for a carrier that is non-union and undercuts his wage (or his power to seeks a good wage).

In the end, do we all want to be a part of a race to the bottom? and help the executives get rich while turning our industry into Walmart, and our profession into a job that ranks below garbage man? or do we want to hold our ground and act like we're all in this together and try (every one of us) to raise the bar?

Not saying that all companies must pay the same, but if a company is making hand over fist while not paying the same wages as another company that is making a decent profit (but not as much), who in the end does that really help? The pilots? or the managers?

You missed the point. You're not even paying in real dollars what it cost to fly 20 years ago when fuel was cheap.

And let's change it to "Some people will suffer any indignity to feed themselves or their family".
Exactly the phrase every scab uses, "I had to feed my family!" B6 and VX types could sell real estate, gone to the FAA or anything else. However, they chose to go non-Union for less pay/benefits just to keep flying.

This is a competitive capitalist system. If I want to save money and fly JetBlue, SWA, or AirTran and save MY money- I don't owe you jack.
Ah, but SWA pays the highest wages for passenger 737 pilots in North America. And Air Tran pays its UNION pilots about $30 more an hour than B6. They profit on good business practice, not by lowballing labor. So, fly scaBlue if you want. But understand exactly who and what you're supporting with you travel dollars. A corrupt CEO who personally profits at the expense of the Kool-Aiders he employs.

Because Bushs' middle east policy is based on a complete misunderstanding of the region, and the difference between the various parties down there. In the end, he just does what's in the best interest of big oil and of course Israel.

That's why..

Vpede

I'll ask you again- do I owe YOU a living? It's a yes or no question.
