Recall of DAL MEC Officers

But by all means, carry on.
Meanwhile, I'll be thinking of that song from The Who:
"I'll tip my hat to the new constitution
Take a bow for the new revolution
Smile and grin at the change all around
Pick up my guitar and play
Just like yesterday
Then I'll get on my knees and pray
We don't get fooled again"

All this shadowy palace intrigue is unacceptable. Let's cut through the BS.
The presumption around here that anonymity is required is inappropriate.
There is no reason we need to be speaking in code.
These union honchos are all "public figures". They are either elected or appointed to high ranking official positions in a very large labor organization. They do so of their own free will. A certain degree of public scrutiny and criticism is completely normal. They have no expectation of privacy that would require us to use their initials or refrain from typing their names on this forum.
Nobody is talking about posting their home addresses but calling them out publicly by name for their political activities is absolutely fair game.
Now that we have that out of the way, would someone care to provide a scorecard style line-up of all the players? I think the rank and file pilots have a right to know what's going on with their union.
Maybe I'm hopelessly ignorant and uninformed compared to all the other APC readers but I didn't know we had all this infighting and discord on our MEC. I want to know who is who and I want to see a free and open debate of all the issues that are dividing these guys so I know who to support and who to oppose.
All this closed door cloak and dagger back-stabbing is pretty disgusting. These people are in charge of millions of our dues dollars. They need to explain themselves and they need to be held accountable.
Anybody ALPA insiders have the courage to explain all this?

IMHO it is a bit silly because those making the threats don't acknowledge the letters do not commit their Rep to any specific course of action. As such, those working their strategy around coercion prior to the voting could very well be surprised when the Reps they believe to be "in the bag" vote their conscience (as I believe they all ultimately will).
If such resolutions go forward in our Council, it is my hope enough line guys bother to show up to give a good cross section of Delta pilots and moderate the proceedings. FWIW, I plan to argue against any more recalls at our level when we have a chance to speak.

I fail to see how the replacement of our entire union leadership is a "ridiculous event".
Speak plainly please. What are you telling us?
Are you saying that Thursday's Special MEC meeting is a waste of our dues?
If so, would you care to enlighten us on who is responsible for this ridiculous event?

I agree. And why are only DALPA insiders aware of what's going on? I'm the first to admit, I'm ignorant on much of the union process stuff. The bottom line however is these guys represent me as much as any other Delta pilot. Why do I have to read tea leaves and divine the constellations in the stars to know what's happening with my union and my union dues?
However, you can read through the threads and get a pretty good gist of things.

I don't see what the big deal is, really. Unless one cares deeply about DALPA power factions and politics, every one of the individuals in question think more or less along the same lines when it comes to the really important stuff like restoring our profession and our careers. As far as I'm concerned, it's "six of one, half dozen of the other." Now if you're talking about recalls and bringing in replacements that would establish an objective of restoration and a firm resolve to achieve it, that would be a whole different story. But Kingsley versus O'Malley? Six of one, half dozen of the other... in other words, no restoration objective either way. YAWN.

Different players entirely. S reps going after a S chairman. No N Rep involvement on the KR letter. The letter originated from the SLC, CVG, Capt Reps, and one of the ATL Capt Reps and was joined by both LAX Reps, the SLC and NYC f/o Rep, one of the ATL f/o Reps (AG) and the other ATL Capt Rep.
