Are you saying that Thursday's Special MEC meeting is a waste of our dues?

If so, would you care to enlighten us on who is responsible for this ridiculous event?
Hey Check,

I see you're an ATL guy. Rather than drag this event through the public forum, why don't give your reps a call. I'm sure they'll tell you all you would like to know.

I guess the fired EA really wasn't so bad...seems KR rehired him.

The other 3 MEC officers duties are defined in the policy manual and answer to the MEC. They don't make personnel decisions. Those are the Chairman's picks, so he owns all the personnel turmoil. That's what makes the recall of the other 3 officers look like political theater.
Still playing the BS game eh slowplay. Kingsley Roberts rehired the Executive Administrator as an olive branch to your side in an attempt to get along. Now your side is going ahead with the attempt to bring back O'Malley anyway.

One thing is certain: There is not a wit of difference between you, Moak or O'Malley. That's why Moak hired you at national now to do the job you were fired from at DALPA. However this turns out, I hope that there's not a single speck of the slowplay, Moak, O'Malley playbook left in our MEC. Your tactics are and were simply awful.

All Delta pilots need to log on to the ALPA website, go to council 20 and read the letter C20 just put out about the upcoming special MEC meeting to recall officers. It's a must read.

Who said The DPA was going to negatively affect C15?

Slow got one thing right, this is political theatre designed to undermine the DAL pilots.

Excellent update, and with Ron Ricco's perspective of several pages back, spot on from my perspective.

I agree that the tactics of the previous two MEC Chairmanships and their close administration circle are largely responsible for the DPA movement. Moak, National, and DALPA have become almost indistinguishable in operating philosophy - centralized control by unelected appointees. The election of Kingsley Roberts while certainly not a 180 in the direction of DALPA was a still a significant change in direction and was the will of the majority.

From my view the Moak school supporters believed that in order to see their vision through required a continuous succession of like minded reps, committee chairman and hand picked appointees in the majority. The DALPA policy manual is engineered to maximize the Chairman's flexibility in consolidating and maintaining his support and flexibility. It all worked as designed as long as the "democratic" process resulted in the desired outcome and the "correct" personnel anointed and in the decided line of succession. Moak is also up for reelection at the next BOD meeting and the support of DALPA is likely crucial. Ironically much of the MEC strife of the last several years has been attributed to fNWA representatives who haven't bought into the we've always done it this way play book yet this recall of MEC Chair effort is entirely within the confines of pre-merger DAL representatives.

It should not be lost on anyone Richard Anderson has hailed Moaks visionary leadership to the business community and the Co. has reportedly cancelled meetings if some of the unelected personnel who carry over from Moak's administration dismissed won't be present.

Don't for a second buy this is just routine business or we have more important business at hand - the outcome of this recall and subsequent Officer elections will determine the tone of future LOA's and TA's for years to come, especially if the top down structure (or we'll tell you how we want you to vote democracy) continues. This is either the dying gasp of an empire or it's resurgence, and frankly I believe pivotal in the future of the DPA.

FYI, the update is not yet on the LEC 20 web page.

Totally agree with your assessment of past "playbook", Carl. But I'm confused about how anyone would think KR represents a different playbook. Unless he's had a significant change of heart since his DALPA Forum days, his thinking is exactly along the same lines as slowplay, Moak, O'Malley, etc. Sounds to me like this just comes down to internal policy/process disagreements between two different factions. Nothing either way that would change our course and put us on a path to restoration. Frankly, I don't understand why all the great interest in this... other than the typical "slowing down to look at an accident syndrome."

Because I think its high time that this dirty laundry got some air.

I want to see the cockroaches scurrying when somebody finally turns on the lights.

I feel like the membership is being treated with contempt and that is just plain wrong.

(where can the C20 update be found?)
