Tstorms -- avoid. W/S -- avoid or take precautions. Holding -- give me a break. Diverting/Med -- use the checklist.

Flying Gay, If the aforementioned activities are the measure of your career then you really are still a ****ing idiot.

Lately on this forum, I've only heard crickets coming from the AA camp. Anyone been hired there lately? Juicy rumors? Other?

For the last 6 months it was almost exclusively Envoy flows and recalls Wth a smattering of OTS guys. There are guys who interviewed before Jan with CJO's waiting to hear on class dates. There is another group who interviewed after Jan and were not given a CJO or TBNT. They were basically told the process was on hold. They MIGHT get a CJO someday. Pretty much a huge kick in the balls, hopefully they've all continued pursuing other airlines. I'm of the opinion that the Envoy flow is a ridiculous concept. Yes it needs to be honored contractually, so I'm not sure what can be done about it.

The good news for future street hires is that the majority of the flows are in their late forties/early fifties so likely won't be senior but younger to an OTS.

Got the interview invite about 10 days ago.

Not hired (yet....I hope) but here are my numbers:

~ 5200 TT
~ 4100 PIC
~ 3200 IP
~ 2300 multi eng
All except ~ 70 hrs is military/turbine. Ap in for about 3 1/2 months.

Question: I'm drowning in gouge; I've got so much to read through (and, according to this website a lot of it is wrong) I don't know where to begin. One single file a friend sent me via DropBox was almost 150 pages, and there were probably 100 files total in that DropBox.

Any advice on how to study for the Knowledge Test from those who got the CJO????

And...how long did the average CJO study for the Knowledge Test???

Congrats on the interview invite. I assume you're talking Delta.
I would read through most of the gouge you can (some might be wrong...you can use Google to verify some questions.) Don't get too wrapped around the axle on math questions. I only had 3 or 4 questions requiring actual math, as did many of my interview classmates.
Know the basics of holding (entries and speeds).

Don't blow off the cog test. There's some good powerpoint stuff out there to give you an idea of what to expect. Check your PM.

Good luck!

Dodo

Sitting at 5000TT, About 2000TPIC 121 . 5-10 LORs at various majors. BA degree. No accidents or incidents, no speeding tickets, DUIS. I did however fail my CFI three times about 8 years ago when I was 18. No other training issues.

When folks mention no training failures on here, are they talking about a 100% spotless training record or a spotless 121 training record? Could my part 61 issues be an issue at a major level?

Just my two cents but I think they do expect a spotless record for top tier folks. That is not to say you won't get an interview or get hired but you need to be able to talk about the failures, admit them and tell what you learned. All the interview prep companies are really good at helping you frame the story correctly. Definitely don't hide it and be ready to discuss it.
