Does you're "that guy" mean hired at a 121 regional with 300 hrs and a MEL commercial? If so, good on you. Very efficient progress overall.

I was not. I was able to squeak by with no job fairs and not finishing my masters to help my mediocre undergrad gpa. I can only assume the type rating helped but there are plenty of people getting hired there now without it. It was crickets from United and Delta which I maybe blame on my gpa and no job fairs if I had to think of something. Good luck!

2600 turbine PIC
1600 Instructor
Chief of Safety
WAI: American/FedEx 3/16

Southwest: TBNT
Applied: 3/20/15, 8/24/15 (after local military job fair)
Invite: 8/27/15, Interview 10/6, TBNT e-mail 11/11

United: TBNT
Applied: 12/10/15
Hogan invite: 2/12/16
TBNT: 2/16/16

Delta: CJO - declined
Applied: 12/10/15
Invite: 3/12/16
Interview: 5/12/16

FedEx: CJO - accepted
Applied: 12/18/15
Invite: 6/4/16
Interview: 6/13/16

It's been a long crazy road and I never thought it would end up the way it did, but I couldn't be happier. Lesson learned though, should have applied to more places earlier, but was fortunate to have a good paying full time job I wasn't in too much of a hurry to leave.

Thanks for the insightful data points 707Type. Would you mind sharing your thoughts for declining Delta's CJO since you did not have the invite from FedEx at the time? I presume you are still active duty, what was your listed availability date?

Good on you man, congratulations! Can you give any insight as to how you got the invite? I know others with your similar background who are now at Delta - trying to put together a list of best practices of pilots who have been so efficient and successful like you with their efforts.

I think you are reading it wrong. He probably only declined the DL CJO before starting class and having rec'd an offer in hand from FDX. At least that's the way I read it.

You are probably right...I came to the same conclusion after thinking about it a bit longer.
