I was single with no kids. I was hired.

But, that was 25 years ago.

Majority of people I know that have been hired are single no kids. Not sure if interview panels are even allowed to ask, or if they care to look at it on your written application.

Good. I know off the wall question, but they can pick and choose these days. I was about to go find a mail-order bride catalog. lol

Ahahahaha. I do see your point though. At Deltas new hire dinner my buddy told me he could only bring a spouse, you cant bring a "date." So his gf of 3 years had to stay home. Sounds very old school. Maybe thats changed since he was hired?

If you're an instructor at DLF, you'd probably be able to find a lady or two willing to pose as a significant other in Ciudad Acuña.

Nice way to welcome a new guy, "welcome, but we are going to pick and choose who you spend time with at a dinner"

Its a bonified "significant other" event I think. The intent is to make it a special event and not for casual dates. If you are really close to someone and want them to come, make your case and ask for an exemption. Its a special event with pictures taken and honestly just not a good time for the average BF/GF to come along unless you are very serious about them, in which case...

Has anyone that's not military been hired at SWA this time around??

Not knocking the military guys, but it seems like the past 2 windows have been heavily favored on mil guys/gals.
