Flap speed Question for any 737 NG operators
#1
737 NG Gents and Ladies,
Do you guys use the Boeing placard flap speed (250 kias) for Flaps 1, or do you you use a "company restricted" slower speed like (230 kias)?
At UA and previously at CO we used 230 kias for flaps 1 and 2 and 225 for flaps 5. I'm sure we get some sort of MX inspection break for doing it this way.
Just a mild curiosity.

Extend flaps at 10kts above applicable maneuvering speed at our NG operator. Flaps 1 and 2 are good for additional drag to increase descent rates without the use of the annoying speed brakes.
