MEMRAT does not need to be on everything but must be on large issues, such as scope.

MEMRAT does not have to be expensive. The internet is a beautiful thing. Easy to get information and votes to and from membership. When We are talking about career changing agreements it needs to be voted on.

Well said.

Unless you were at an ALPA airline using Seniority Block Representatives for a single domicile, it couldn't have been exactly the same as silo (as I understand silo to be pure seniority blocks). Throw 5 domiciles into the mix, and it's no longer pure silo. I think you'll like the advantages of a Seniority Block system even with multiple domiciles.

I sense sarcasm, yet they were able to reject the offer, whereas we would have to eat any sandwich put before us. So, what is your point?

The point is that they give false hope. The Eagle guys thought they'd go in with ALPA and get what they truly deserve. They got it alright. Whipsawed!

By ALPA bretheren we should ALL go on strike. That's how a UNION works. Nope. I bet 100% of Delta ALPA bretheren don't even know what "Envoy" is or do a survey for FedEx pilots who knew Eagle ALPA bretheren were voting on a contract. LOL!!! ALPA.

One of the great things about a national union like ALPA is that each MEC gets the resources of a large national union but they determine their own negotiating goals and strategies and each pilot group ratifies their own agreements, negotiated by their own negotiating committee.

As far as strikes go, the last successful pilot strike was done by Spirit pilots, an ALPA represented pilot group. They had the strength of a national union behind them and decades of experienced representation in front of the NMB which greatly helped them secure the contract gains they demanded.
