[QUOTE=76drvr;1613870]One of the great things about a national union like ALPA is that each MEC gets the resources of a large national union but they determine their own negotiating goals and strategies and each pilot group ratifies their own agreements, negotiated by their own negotiating committee."

So, why don't we just make our own MEC's at each individual company and leave out big ALPA?

I've been at 2 Part121 Carriers. Jblue and other. The other was ALPA. My experience there wasn't ant-ALPA. I've been a member of the Communications Workers of America at a non-flying company too. I have been in the military and I've experienced 2 branches of the military. Enough about me.

Thanks, just wondering if you got the 20 for a retirement.

Read the thread. I wrote in for JBPA. I would prefer in-house. It won't win, but it's kindof like a protest vote in England. (In the UK you can rank your votes, so if your number 1 doesn't win you vote for your second choice, etc.)

Because small independent unions lack the resources, experience and influence that a national union brings to the table.

Well put and well done. I voted the same way but will support ALPA if the vote passes.
