They usually set up a table and pull aside every third or 4th passenger.

I don't know who you work for but at Alaska Airlines we are specifically exempt from random searches at the gate. These teams of TSA officers are sometimes called a VIPER squad. They do not harass the crew, in uniform, of the flight.
My company put out a memo warning us to NOT change into plain clothes after using KCM due to the TSA seeing it as a violation of the exemption. I think we had a few peeps busted.

Uniformed crew members are exempt from the liquids rule. And I've never been inspected in uniform. But if you change (at least for now) you could be in trouble if searched.

I believe he works at DAL. Which means that BEFORE heading to JNO to fly the RNP you will be randomly screened, AFTER being bought/stapled of course.

Easily handled. Like someone said, just follow the rules. If you insist upon being a scofflaw then keep a pilot shirt in your commuting bag just in case the TSA is at the gate.

Delta crews are exempt also if you are working the fliight. Non revs are just another passenger and are not exempt.

It's just a stupid policy.
If you are flying the aircraft you are exempt anyway.

Can anyone tell me where the liquid rules are printed? I've heard a wide variety of answers (and read a variety in this thread) on exactly who is exempt and under what circumstances the exemption applies. My eye becomes ever more jaundiced reading the "rules" here, but I don't want to be a "scofflaw"-- so, where's the source documentation?

i know they do random searches. My point, which was maybe a little awkwardly worded by me, is that they aren't doing searches specifically targeting crew members and then cross referencing said crew member to the KCM check points to "violate" them for liquids as you put it. It's a ridiculous argument you're trying to make.

I think what he was saying poorly is: You cannot go through KCM in uniform and then change or now out of uniform with larger than 3oz liquids because if you then subsequently get tagged for a random check in civvies, they are gonna want to know how you got those big bottles through. They can go back and look at the security footage from the checkpoint or KCM. If you remain in uniform to commute, they are not going to randomly select you at the gate
