If FedEx had followed proper employee termination protocol he would have never been allowed to work or non-rev/jumpseat considering his termination hearing was the next day.

The likely hood of this happening with airline crew is far less than with ground personnel based solely on the demographics of the people in question. It doesn't mean that there are no bad apples among crew members, because there are, but you are far more likely to find one among the ground crew.

Does anyone remember the ISIS fighter who was killed a few months ago who happened to previously work for Delta Global Services? That is the real threat, not running guns and drugs.

Lest we forget our junk fondling heros in Blue with the cracker Jack tin badges that just flash their ID and stroll through the security check point exit. That annoys me every single time.

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

This guy could have brought anything inside security in that backpack and gave it to a buddy that flew to NYC.

THAT is the scary part. Thugs running guns to NYC on airplanes isn't that scary.

What RockyBoy is trying to say is the gun smugglers were just after a paycheck. It doesn't matter if they were loaded or not; the offenders mission was to simply complete their smuggle undetected.

What he is afraid of was something in a backpack by perpetrators who's mission was to simply get airborne.

It would not be That hard to prevent access back into the Passenger area of the terminal by ramp staff..

Now, the easier way to run this ring would be for a ramper to pre-load the bag into the cargo bay as gate-checked. and then bring it to the gate at the destination so it can be walked out of the terminal on the other side.

At least this way the guns won't be in the cabin!

^^^ At least you're not actively posting suggestions on how to get away with gun running on a public aviation forum.

Exactly.

These guys were just thugs making a paycheck in the illegal gun trade. They had no intentions of doing anything on or to anything aviation related. They were just dumb enough to think it would be a good idea to smuggle them up on airplanes. Why wouldn't you just drive them up? Seems to me that would be a heck of a lot easier than what they were doing.
