It’a funny I’ve had layovers in just about every state, plenty of parks and bike paths to visit that are not located anywhere near the state of Minnesota lol, it’s also not minus 10 degrees when I visit them either.
I see you created an account just to give your feedback and how great the state of Minnesota is. I’ve heard about how big of homers you guys are up there, but this is some next level homer $hit.

The biggest reasons not to move to Minneapolis:
1. The weather - half of the year it’s either too hot/humid or too damn cold.
2. Taxes - some of the highest state taxes in the country.
3. People - if you are moving there, you ain’t from there and they can smell it on you. Good luck joining the community. It took me years to develop a base of friends there.
4. Salt - if you like cars, you cannot drive any nice ones in the winter if you want to keep them for more than a couple of years.
Positives are the food scene, the local economy with many large companies headquartered there, schools (if you are in the right neighborhoods), and cost of housing compared to the coasts.

This is what us "outsiders" describe as "Minnesota Nice... But not TOO nice."

[QUOTE=Catboatsailor;3229651]Thank you for the correction, though we are both partially incorrect.
Actually, Sailing is 100% correct. You’re trying to confuse the issue. Pilots living in WI pay WI taxes even based in MSP. No MN tax return needs to be filed.
The typical WI resident working in MN pays MN income tax, but files in both states. Would only owe WI taxes on the difference in the very unlikely event WI taxes would be higher.

Born and raised in MSP. Brought my out of state wife for 5 years. She summed it up nicely.
“Minnesotans are friendly but they already have too many friends”.
We have since moved, I miss family and friends but we have 0 plans on ever going back. Not to mention how senior and stagnant the base has become for Delta. No thanks.

you all are talking the msp metro where people dare venture in and out of. Some connection to civilization...
Imagine living in a *truly* small town MN or WI or ND or the UP- where literally everyone knows everyone, recognizes EVERY face. But yours.
You can live there 30 years and still be the new family. Ask me how I know. I've even heard it chalked up to racism from some publications.....no they just dislike everyone new in town.
Minnesotans are so nice they'll give directions anywhere....except to their house for dinner.
