A tale of two new hires. Let it be a warning.

It was pretty difficult because you can't remove a tiller from the captain's side of the cockpit. We ended up grounding the airplane and were cancelled for the rest of the trip because it was an outstation. We were then released and luckily the overnight was in Nashville on a Saturday so we went out with the 2 other flight attendants, got white girl wasted and posted on APC to make fun of idiotic pilots who puff their chests out on internet message boards.

The note is put in there to probably differentiate between taxi under its own power or being repositioned by a tug. Section (c) explicitly states, "all ground operations involving taxi."
Hey man, its your ticket. If you wanna try it out, go to ORD or LGA and be number 20 for takeoff and every time you move forward, then set the brake, you can start talking about your favorite football team with a Fed in a jumpseat. Then you can show them the note and let me know the reaction.

Yea, I've had plenty of Feds on the Jumpseat, and we've chatted many times on the taxiway while parked. They and I know the rules.

Uhh....your flight ops manual is FAA approved.....authorized by your POI....signed by your POI......pretty sure they can enforce a document they authorized your company to operate by.

There is no "probably" in this. It's black and white. Always has been in my 24 years as an airline pilot. The rule is: if you are moving under your own power - taxiing - sterile cockpit applies. If you are parked. It does not. It's really that simple.

I don't know about that. According to some guys on this thread you're supposed to sit on your hands on a three-hour groundstop, monitor the shut-down engines, and not engage in non-essential conversation. And if someone does have utter temerity to disregard of safety and engage in non-essential conversation with the parking brake set, the other guy is supposed to shout, "Sterile Cockpit!" and steal his cell phone battery.
