How would anybody know that? And if they are, they can and should pay a lot more.

It's not an improvement over anyone else's contract, and that is how this game is played, and scored by. The minimum is equal footing with the other non-wholly owned airlines. Anything less does not make logical sense.

And this took 6 years? I sure hope there's 100% retro. But I didn't see that in the highlights.

This is why ALPA gets a bad rap.

This is why ALPA pilots leave places like Mesa, Trans-states, etc, for Skywest, and then repeatedly vote down an ALPA drive.

This is partly why it took forever for B6 to vote in ALPA.

This is why pilots support non union startups like Virgin America, and worse yet, attempted union busting startups like Compass and Freedom Air.

Teamsters 1224 enforces unity between pilot groups. ALPA is everyone for themselves. I have a very low opinion of ALPA from my time at Mesa, and ALPA's disgusting behavior and attitude from ABX's strike in CVG.

ALPA is a collection of independent unions. If the leadership of an ALPA airline decides to negotiate something, it's the leaderships' decision and they are solely responsible. A different leadership group may do something entirely different and it would be their sole responsibility. No one can force leadership to do something they don't want to do. You could've changed the name of the union to bananas and the leadership would still make the same decision.

Trans States has one of the best paying 50 seat contracts in the industry. It has, if I'm not mistaken, the best min-day in the industry. That is ALPA. Without it, see some of the things GoJet has, and they even have a union.

Mesa's problems aren't poor management, isn't J.O. It isn't the crew schedulers, airplanes, mechanics, or even the contract. It's the pilot group who have become pushovers suffering from Stockholm Syndrom.

We're LAMA's. We can have interest in our former colleagues plight, we can sympathize with them, we can help them move on when they ask, but it's not our problem now. What is done is done. Telling them they are suffering from a phycological disorder is unproductive and insulting. Beating your fellow pilots for something that cannot change neither benefits them or brings you credibility. At least 42% see things your way, probably a larger percentage agrees with you, but their option to stay outweighs their options to leave. Good for them. I wish them well.

Talking to friends over there, they are all bewildered as to who voted yes? They are suggesting the vote was rigged? 98% of us voted no last time...
You are right, I owe the no voters an apology. The yes voters? Haha.

Since so many unions votes have been rigged in the distant past, the legal requirements around this vote would have minimized any chance of a rigged vote occurring. I believe the Yes voters either lied and said they would vote No, or the Yes voters were simply silent.

Either way, it is what it is and each of us needs to move forward in our own way.
