I think it's a decent contract and keep in mind Mesa is not funding the pay increases, United and American are. It's not ground breaking in the pay or benefits but compared to what is currently in place and what management has presented previously, its an improvement!

And this took 6 years? I sure hope there's 100% retro. But I didn't see that in the highlights.
This is why ALPA gets a bad rap.
This is why ALPA pilots leave places like Mesa, Trans-states, etc, for Skywest, and then repeatedly vote down an ALPA drive.
This is partly why it took forever for B6 to vote in ALPA.
This is why pilots support non union startups like Virgin America, and worse yet, attempted union busting startups like Compass and Freedom Air.

ALPA is a collection of independent unions. If the leadership of an ALPA airline decides to negotiate something, it's the leaderships' decision and they are solely responsible. A different leadership group may do something entirely different and it would be their sole responsibility. No one can force leadership to do something they don't want to do. You could've changed the name of the union to bananas and the leadership would still make the same decision.

We're LAMA's. We can have interest in our former colleagues plight, we can sympathize with them, we can help them move on when they ask, but it's not our problem now. What is done is done. Telling them they are suffering from a phycological disorder is unproductive and insulting. Beating your fellow pilots for something that cannot change neither benefits them or brings you credibility. At least 42% see things your way, probably a larger percentage agrees with you, but their option to stay outweighs their options to leave. Good for them. I wish them well.

You are right, I owe the no voters an apology. The yes voters? Haha.

Either way, it is what it is and each of us needs to move forward in our own way.
