One problem what if the Market does not recover in the time you think it should. What if it does not get back to $320s. Look your clearly a MONEY guy and that’s great, I don’t have an issue with that, correct me if I’m wrong but you’d rather give up flying than take less pay than “YOU THINK” you deserve. Brotha nothin’ wrong with that. Me I love flying to much, greatest job in the world, If the market says my pay should be less, I WON’T like it but for me I would take a cut because my desire to do what I love outweighs the money I make. Nothing wrong with that either we just have differences in view points on pay and market prices for our jobs.
Wow. What a sap....

I've had a few whacks to the head I'll give you that. My point stands. I'm assuming you work for a cargo outfit. I don't know really don't care, but if your working for Southern, ATI, Atlas or anyone of the the ACMI's your not making FedEx or UPS money. They all flying the same equipment 757, 767, 777 ect. They are the uppper echelon (FedEx, UPS) of the pay scale. If your not making their money that puts you at a B scale as well. For the pilots working at the ACMI's flying the "same" equipment as UPS and FedEx like it or not my point is proven. You are only worth what your employer will pay you. Now if your at a legacy making that moolah congrats, I tip my hat to you. If your not. Your on someone's B scale. Not trying to be a D about it. Like I said in earlier post I'm a realist.

He is right about the ZED status. It’s already an issue.
Southern/Atlas just gave all their pilots 10% raises. Granted they were among the lowest paid in ACMI, until Sun Country and Mesa decided to bring their mess into another sandbox.
you guys weren’t going to give up anything. Management already had a contract for 737 flying. It was coming either way. The difference is, now it was a new fleet type and there was no status quo. They HAD to get a deal with you guys. Once the CBA becomes amendable they have a CBA for 737 flying and can just sit status quo in section six for years and years. They have zero pressure to make a good deal. Nobody could order you guys to go do a job you’ve never done before, they had to get a contract with you. Now, you can be ordered to work.
so, you’re love of flying outweighs your need for fair wages and work rules. The market is what you negotiate for. What looked like a great deal to a bunch of regional pilots is now the worst contract in our segment of the industry. ALPA did you no favors either. They just did Kalitta and ATI contracts 3 years ago. They knew you should have been getting positive space travel to/from home and hotels the minute you leave home. They also should know that allowing the company to use your employee travel benefit puts your entire workgroups ZED status in jeapordy.
Your MEC & NC should resign.

Been there done that, maybe not a B scale in the same company, but as far as economically compensation scale in the same industry. There will always be the highest paid and anything other than is a lower scale. B scale, second tier, fair market scale I don't care what you call it. My point is I'm sick and tired of people coming in saying, oh you lowered the bar. If you sign any contract less than the highest earners in that industry or profession, you ALSO have done what lowered the bar. So please before you throw stones at Mesa, look at your own wage and if a guy or gal is making one penny more same equipment same seat per hour. You also have lowered the bar and by definition of the "hard landing" it's not a B scale, but really whats the difference.
