As briefed before gents, I would update you. I have received word from someone who was offered a CJO on the Ejet that hiring was put on hold. Mesa will most likely be furloughing. His CJO is basically pointless at this time. Check your email, or contact your recruiter to verify. Please post if you are hearing something different. Training department is still idle.
Sorry guys. I’m actually going to FedEx as a delivery driver here at the end of October. Furlough, keep my number and go drive a delivery truck is about the best I can do. Hope you guys keep positive, flying will come back some day.

I have a feeling Mesa will do something similar to republic. I have my CJO an they are hiring I know someone on Friday that got a offer. We’re just told they the will communicate when the training starts. But the recruitment team was sent home but they have been back in the office an active from what it seems

Dude, no regional carrier is going to be starting class for another year and a half. There will be no signing bonus. There will be no more paid ATP/CTP.

Again, management is smarter than the pilots.

Since a CJO isn’t a class date and no seniority number is awarded, how can cadets expect to get a class date when hiring eventually resumes considering that United is going to furlough deep enough to trigger the LOA requiring the hiring of furloughed United pilots? Mesa will have to offer new hire positions to United pilots equal to 5 times the number of planes that they have flying for United. With the regionals shrinking with their legacy partners, and thousands of experienced regional pilots out of work, does being a cadet even mean very much at this point. The reason to have had that type of program has been eliminated for a while.

Being a cadet does especially at Mesa because it’s contracted. When everything hit we were advised when the hiring req changed that they would still be paying for our ATP due to our contract. They have also been in contact with cadets since we will be going to training first behind the furloughed class that yes training is TBD but things are expected to be better soon. Just what I’ve been told as well as some other cadets I know as well.

Cadet have the highest priority to training after the furloughed class. They have already given cadets half of the sign on bonus which was 10,000. The cadet contract is training much be executed 18 months from when we signed BUT they have made it clear they are gojng to extend the contracts due to a lot of people being unable to time build.

Not to say you won’t be first in line for training, but don’t expect them to extend the contract if you don’t have your 1,460 hours. The pilot pool is much bigger that you’re swimming in now. Remember, Mesa is a business who will make decisions that benefit the business first. Sadly if that means no longer honoring that contract and asking for the $10,000 back then it sucks but again, it’s a business. I’d say you’re 100% correct on being first in line for training but ONLY if you’re at 1,460 hours by the time they start training again. Remember, pilots are needed as much as they used to be, so the business decisions are going to be taking a complete 180. I for example was given years of extension to my cadet contract, matter of fact they never even brought it up once that I was taking awhile to get my hours, they didn’t care they just needed me as soon as humanly possible. The markets changed now and it sucks for people who didn’t make it into a class date before this, I feel for you. I hope all works out in your favor
