God I hope not! I do see a direct substitute for what Mesa flies from the other Express carriers.

I believe PSA (out of Dayton OH) or Piedmont (Salisbury Maryland) both subsidiaries of US Airways. Piedmmont could benefit, since they got hurt with that LGA swap deal with Delta. My opinion.

Piedmont would be great out there, especially since our ground crew is heading out there, but I wont hold my breath unless oil goes back up.

Dunno if its been posted or if its old news...

Form 8-K for MESA AIR GROUP INC

28-Aug-2009

Other Events

Item 8.01. Other Events

On August 19, 2009, Delta Air Lines, Inc. ("Delta") filed suit in the Northern District of Georgia seeking to terminate the Delta Connection Agreement among Delta, Mesa Air Group, Inc. (the "Company"), and the Company's wholly-owned subsidiary, Freedom Airlines, Inc. ("Freedom"), dated May 3, 2005 (as thereafter amended, the "Connection Agreement"). Delta's lawsuit seeks a declaratory judgment from the Court authorizing it to terminate the Connection Agreement as a result of a claimed "material breach" by Freedom. The Company vehemently denies there is any basis for terminating the Connection Agreement and intends to vigorously defend its rights thereunder. The Company also intends to file counterclaims against Delta for the damages caused by Delta's continued bad faith actions and breaches of the Connection Agreement.

The alleged material breach relates to Delta's efforts to impose certain cost reductions on Freedom. Freedom believes that Delta's claims are wholly without merit and are a direct effort by Delta to circumvent the injunction prohibiting Delta from terminating Freedom's Connection Agreement, which was recently upheld by the 11th Circuit Court of Appeals. For a description of the Company's contractual relationship and legal proceedings with Delta, see the disclosure set forth in the Company's Form 10-K for the fiscal year ended and subsequently filed quarterly reports on Form 10-Q and current reports on Form 8-K.

It would be great but I don't the Dash could make PHX to ANC. Since we at Piedmont just opened ANC as the ground handlers.

I don't really understand what that all even means...is it just Delta asking AGAIN to cancel?

Don't they have to go to court now and fight it out?

Yes they will which isn't cheap. Delta can stay in the fight for quite a few more rounds than bloodied up Mesa can, especially if United pulls the flying in February

Delta is asking the court to terminate the contract based on Mesa's poor financial health. The contract requires the lift provider "Mesa" to maintain a specific financial strength. Delta claims that Mesa did not meet the contract financial requirements based on the latest SEC filing. Delta has to go to court to cancel the contract due to the injunction.

Delta is just killing Mesa.

Now, obviously ol johnny hasn't made one of his supposed "savvy" moves for a while, but it seems to me that Delta is putting the screws to Mesa without much cause. . . except their own agenda to reduce the 50 seat market.

I don't pay too close attention to the stats, but it feels like Mesa was always doing pretty good regarding completion %, ontime, etc. with Delta (not so much with UAL).

Now, with United AND US Air reducing Mesa's roles, Delta is just going to try to put 'em right out of business. Cold.

Cool avatar cripplehawk. I just saw watchmen 2 or 3 days ago.
