I heard it from Chuck Colgan himself, when he called me for an interview. Colgan has 10 Q400's coming in 2010 and 10 more for 2011. The 2010's are for ual an the 2011's are for cal. He was trying to sell me the growth Colgan was getting in the future. But I turned it down because I got another job offer from a cargo company with better pay.

I'm curious Rick, your profile says you fly a crj. What did you make you're first year flying the crj or which ever aircraft you were flying year one at your airline? I am not picking a fight, I was just curious where that was.
I now work for a regional which pays me $40-50K as an FO (depending on how much I work or don't work). The first year was of course much lower but that is the case anywhere unfortunately. But a D8 FO at mesa is stuck at $25K forever...the other guy was kidding himself. |

I don't think UAL wants anymore 50 seaters jets (Unless Xjet is willing to fly a prop or a 70 seater)
Maybe UAL wants better 50 seat feed. There will always be a 50 seat market (esp at CAL), it just is changing. |
Yeah I have a feeling this might go to the least expected carrier. Everyone is always saying the same players, Skywest, Sh1taqua, Mesa...but I think this is going to be the beginning of a huge long deserving change for a different carrier. :D

Why are they more deserving than those who have already been working for the UA brand? |

I love how you guys know what UAL wants...

Nobody wants them here anymore. (Also Dispatching them at one point they are a very inefficient when it comes to Fuel (The CRJ-200LR) especially when you have to give them holding/alternate or extra fuel for weather. The CRJ-700ER is a much better A/C when it comes to fuel efficiency UAL does not want 50 seaters anymore because they are losing money on them since. |

You are very misguided if you think so. 50 seats will exist at every carrier until they COMPLETELY give up scope, and then, it's game over. Whether UAL wants them or not, they are stuck with them. |

The CRJ-700 is not more fuel efficient when you have 50 out of 70 seats occupied. The EMB-145LR and especially XR, is more efficient than any CRJ200. |
