I know.............I have been to college too.

Which regional has the crappiest contract and pay scale? Those are the pilots that will get rewarded with growth.

Things they don't teach you in college... :-/

You are very misguided if you think so. 50 seats will exist at every carrier until they COMPLETELY give up scope, and then, it's game over.

Whether UAL wants them or not, they are stuck with them.

No, but I dispatched at PSA (US Airways Express) for a while. I have dispatched the CRJ-200 and the 700s on the same routes They burn almost the same amount of fuel but the 700 is the clear winner in every catagory. You Don't need an MBA to know that. )I never touched an
ERJ-145 but I have heard they are better than the CRJ-200.

As for UAL they have the option to terminate the 200 flying in April 2010. But they must give MESA a 6 month notice.

I told you it was Colgan.

Which carrier might that be?

Why are they more deserving than those who have already been working for the UA brand?

I didn't say anyone else wasn't deserving, but it's nice when an airline with good pay / contract wins over the usual bar lowering lowest bidders.

I think quality is going to come out on top for once for a few reasons but you can deduce from there.

That's the one I'm hearing... from ASA management. Apparently SKW wants to buy Lynx and RAH is interested.

They're not pulling it..the RFP has been issued to begin when Mesa's contract legally expires in April 2010.

United has to notify Mesa 180 days in advance of their planned "non renewal" of that contract...most likely..United is just fishing..this is either the 2nd or 3rd time they've issued RFPs for this exact same flying.

April 2010 is when 20 ASA -200s become available. Coincidence?

While I'd like us to get this contract I doubt we will. We are either going to be too expensive or Skywest will take the planes and do the flying themselves. We've been hearing the UA flying rumor for a long time and I just don't think ASA will ever win it.

If your only technique for being successful in your career depends on the misfortune of others then you are going to have a frustrating go of it. Take my advice please...You will be better served in life if you spend your valuable time improving yourself and making where you currently are a better place instead of sitting around hoping for the person next to you to fall so that you can jump into their coveted spot. Wishing ill will on others for your own personal gain says everything about your character.
