So, there are no FOs hired before 2013 that are waiting to upgrade because of time or other reasons?
I actually was talking to two separate IAD guys hired prior to 2013 (2006 and 2007) who don't want to.... have other sources of income and have no interest in going back to reserve or a crappy line or commuting. So they're out there.

Did this come out via email? It's not listed on the bidding hub. I'm beginning to think I'm not getting all the company emails I'm supposed to be, I've never received an APCL/MCL email.

Yeah I imagine you're not part of the "pilots" group. have IT add you. Simple phone call or email will solve the problem.

Don't think your supposed to be added until after released from
IOE, at that point it probably slips thru the cracks with how busy this place is these days.

They're just trying to see how many CAs they can get out of CLT voluntarily before they displace them. They're looking for takers so they don't have to pay for moving expenses, etc..

We are not fat on Captains on the CRJ at all. I would bet money they simply looked at the CLT CAs current bids and someone said "oh wow those 7 guys will go to PHX and those guys will go to DFW!!! Let's see if they go voluntarily and push back this displacement another month!!!"

Same old Mesa tactics--and I don't blame them at all for it--they're just trying to save themselves as much money as possible.

Anyone with a spouse making six figures would be insane to upgrade onto reserve, especially if it meant commuting to another base.

There are a handful of men & women at Mesa with spouses making really good money in PHX & IAD. Simply being home with the kids instead of hiring a babysitter is probably worth as much as the pay boost from FO lineholder to CA on reserve!!!

This is what the regionals do. They get people in the door with the promise of a quick upgrade, because they know once the upgrades slowdown (and I believe that's what is happening here), most people will stay because they don't have any better alternatives and don't want to start over.

Exactly. They won't issue the displacement award until the last minute so they can save every penny. They don't care if pilots don't know until 2 weeks prior to a move. I think in our next contract we need to have a mandatory one month notice for a displacement. If they don't like it, TDY us for a month as they figure it out. With the amount of times you will be displaced at a regional, it would be a good thing to have.

Yeah, my understanding was that THIS email was going to be the displacement award. You know, after they said, "We plan to repost the CLT displacement on October 20."

As it stands now, they said they'll run the standing bid on or after the deadline of 11:59pm on the 28th. Will it be announced by October 31? Lots of living arrangements need one month's notice or you're on the hook another month...
