As soon as management makes a decision on the 100 seat aircraft then we will most certainly increase hiring.

We are seeing some folks with 0 TPIC getting hired but they are few and far between. Most likely they are former interns, etc.
And by "etc.", he means "EEO"...let's just state the obvious here.

Sounds like buying a lottery ticket is just as productive as filling out resumes at the big three. I heard of one low time f.o. getting hired at American, and placed in one of the first new hire classes. His father was one of the pilots that died on 9/11 when it crashed into the WTC. So yes, some are getting hired. I'm glad they did that for him.

I'm not saying to not to chase upgrade's but it's how you go about it. Voting for a pay cut for expansion is what is going on right now at PSA/Piedmont/Envoy soon I bet, and that is what makes guys backstabbers. Places like GoJets, and if you remember, Freedom Airlines. I was here. I remember guys saying exactly what you just said above. At the cost of other pilots just so they could get their quick upgrade and bypass the normal wait time by moving up the list. So come here, get your hours, move up in seniority, upgrade, but just remember when you can vote, to vote for a better contract, and don't sell the place to get what you needed. That makes you a backstabber. This is why the regional suck so bad now.

Btw, it's not like the lifers at Mesa planned to be one. This is the exact reason why. Things just didn't work in our favor. I thought I would be gone by year 6 or 7. It's 12 plus now because of furloughs, economy, age 65 rule, and now, I too am waiting on a lottery ticket.

For those of you wondering why Mesa has the worst contract right now, you can thank Freedom Airlines and those pilots for making us at Mesa trade a pay raise and better contract rigs for scope and language to bring it all back over to one list. JO was going to shut Mesa down. Freedom didn't have a union and JO would have had a wet dream. We did not allow that to happen. Ever since then however, Mesa has been behind trailing everyone else and we have gotten bashed for it. Yet the blame lyes with those Freedom pilots and what they did to this airline. Almost no one at other regionals understand what happened and just love to blame Mesa for bringing the regional industry down but if they educated themselves they could thank not Mesa but Freedom A list pilots. Backstabbers have destroyed this profession.

So for those new guys this is why Mesa is what it is today.

I realize that, and accept that it could happen to me as well. However, nearly every captain I fly with has said they have no interest in going to a lcc. They could go to Spirit or Jet Blue, they are simply too comfortable where they are.

Reading some of y'all's posts, with pretty much zero grammar and sentence structure, is like gouging my eyes out with hot needles.
