Ok let's be fair....the top plan at Mesa will cost you that much, but the lower tier plans are not that much. They range between $460 and $1400 a month. Still not good by any stretch of the imagination. Apparently the percentage of pilots using Mesa insurance is well below 50. I think most find something cheaper through obamacare or their spouse.

Sorry, didn't mean to put you on the defensive, I was laughing because you failed to chime in on a serious discussion about insurance benefits but made your request to stay at the other "crew hotel" sound like the bold act of a martyr going to bat for the entire group.

Don't worry, no attempt here to break unity or support regional airlines blatant disrespect for the CBA. Just don't be late for the sim because your transportation didn't work. I've got a flight right afterwards.

However I wouldn't pull stuff like that while still on probation.
I pulled it while on probation, Crew Tracking had to arrange me a room in CLT not too long ago and after receiving my reservation to the bedbug-infested Executive Park Quality Inn, I called them back and told them I wouldn't stay there. They called Travelliance, who promptly moved me to the Best Western.

LOL the CLT Best Western is the worst in the system and needs to be condemned/demolished/forgotten about for the rest of all time.

Seriously no idea how our hotel committee/crewmembers put up with that bedbug-infested, unsanitary dump. They rarely change the sheets.

Apparently one of our crew got pretty bitten up by fleas in Des Moines a week or two ago.

Easy rule: we don't go where other airlines don't go. Let's stick that in the next contract.

How is it that I've never experienced bedbugs at any of our hotels? From the way the union and FAs talk, I should be encountering them daily. Best Western Charlotte is kind of bad, but Quality Inn Executive Park is my first choice among the cheap places.
