If I have 90 hours and start getting cancelled, I don't lose money. You have line guarantee. Big difference. Also, I just ran into a girl in the van who couldn't go home between ground school and sim because your not in CASS yet. That's ridiculous. I'm not hating on Mesa, but there are a lot of differences between our contracts. Paying for KCM and iPads?? Come on now.

That definitely used to be true; however, things have changed dramatically over last few years at TSA. I'm sure some of the 'old school' TSA guys can chime in and give an opinion on that. I went through training a year and half ago and it was very well organized and they will get you prepared to pass your oral and type ride. Not to say everyone passes (3 out of 8 from our class made it), but if you work hard and have a good attitude, you will be fine. They gave extra sims to those that needed it. If you can't find your a$$ with both hands in the sim, then they'll politely ask you to leave. I had a very good experience during training and truly like working for this company. It's being run by ex- Comair guys and they have made TSA a very enjoyable place to work.

I know I just posted this on a Mesa thread, so let me also say that I have nothing at all against Mesa...great group of pilots from my experience

Had a guy in my class from TSA if that says anything. Out of curiosity because I don't go reading through other regionals forums. How many Mesa guys are posting on the TSA thread? Maybe it's a sign....

HA I have gone home twice between class, FPT, and sims. CASS has nothing to do with it. They couldn't jump seat anyway because they don't have they're crew badge. It's called non reving which we had the option to sign up for on day one of class. We were all in the US Airways system 2 weeks later.

Mesa has a lot of good people in the training department. I've heard some airlines, like PSA love to fail half the class over stupid stuff, never mind the person is still a good pilot. When you come to Mesa, the atmosphere is that of one that wants you to succeed, people want to see you pass. That alone can attract a lot of people here. It seems some airlines ego's are a little too big for their own good.
PSA has a great training deprtment... At the time that that particular class (read one class) experienced that attrition rate there were a lot of new instructors and yes, training deficiencies. That was one class, one of the recent classes had something like a 98% completion rate.

"PSA has a great training department" - said no one ever haha. Had a PSA guy in my class too who was actually my sim partner and is an awesome pilot. There were about 4 in the class behind us. I have heard nothing but horror stories.

Hey now, lets have a civil discussion about this without saying inflammatory statements to our comrades at other regionals. I can very easily believe that TSA and PSA improved things. In this day and age, you need to hold onto your new hires and not push them to your competitor over stupid stuff.
And they have valid points. It is absolutely disgusting that we have to pay for KCM, iPads, and our health care costs... Don't even get me started on that.

Did you know that Mesa used to pay for KCM? Did you know Mesa took KCM away because they needed to fix a computer issue with it? Did you know later that Mesa brought it back, but stated, "If you want it, your going to have to pay for it." So now you know, next time you fly with a seasoned Mesa captain who refuses to pay for KCM, thats why!

And there have been guys from PSA in classes for other airlines too... And lots of guys leaving their regionals to come to PSA. I wasn't trying to start some ****ing contest with you. I'm sure everyone has heard something negative about every training department out there. Get a grip bub.

The flight was probably full so she couldn't get a seat. Maybe the jump was available, but no CASS.
