Like it or not Marcin obviously had the connections to be in the position he is in. Whether he is well suited for the job or not.

I'm sure they asked him to teach a sample lesson, and if he enjoyed instructing and, of course, his philosophy on teaching style as part of their interview process to select the most qualified individuals...oh, wait.
Honestly, though, I think he'll work out better than some of the others in that position.

I doubt they will actually park those 15 planes. The capacity will be around, they just may not be flown by SkyWest. I would say that it is very probable that capacity will be flown by a lower bidder than SkyWest such as GoJet or Mesa. I'm not sure if those planes are leased by United or SkyWest, so that could make things more complicated. Or maybe United will want to trade those planes in for CRJ-900's or an E-Jet product. Either way, I seriously doubt United will leave large RJ capacity on the table.

It's a legit concern. The Envoy MEC is asking a Federal Committee to revoke the MAG application to fly some USA to Mexico routes, that Envoy currently flys.
Envoy's position is that they have been flying those routes, and have been "trained" and are therefore better qualified to do those routes.
They are really just trying to keep the AA flying to themselves.
