It's not. Obviously not all. Many more than you think.

I guess that's one way to do it, though it seems like a lot of wasted time, money, and resources.

And how is that fair to the pilot? Instead of a "no thank you," you now have a PRIA event. We aren't talking about seasoned professionals but young and naive pilot, like yourself, that truly believe that nonsense.

That's not TECHNICALLY true. As an FO at my airline, I made into the 3rd bracket (>$37k) whereas your FOs did not.

This you have a very good point on the matter and for this is the only advantage to a panel interview. back in the day, I was lucky enough to have a bunch of 135 jobs to build time but for those that have not had that opportunity, have to use their discretion as to weather or not they can pass a 141 training program. Or decide that a jet transition is needed before the ordeal to ensure success.

It's "stupid" until one of these quick upgrade wonders hired over the phone with a well documented junk background ends up getting people hurt. Then when congress realizes what's going on we will all end up paying the price.

Facebitten is only one example of someone who was fired during training. The others including yourself and FaceBiter were told to resign during training.
