Dfw Env ground services leaves a lot to be desired

They used to be pretty good. It's really only in the last few years that DFW has fallen apart. Dynamicanning was the catalyst. I'll agree though: they are just downright embarrassing now.

You would think management would be all over this since it is hurting our on time performance.

Mesa management has been the reason for the improvement. It's aag that's apparently full dgaf mode. For example, half the gate doors to the ramp have keys but only (20?) line holding captains have keys? That's stupid; they should all have a code like everywhere else. All the gates are manned by (1) gate agent at a time, who often isn't the same person working the in/out flight, so once the gate is parked they disappear. It's ridiculous. Charlotte is the sangri-lá of operations compared to DFW.

All of this is without mentioning the rampers, which is a story for the grandkids in itself.

Okay so I just finished IOE last week. (DFW based) and just got a call saying I was given a line for the entire month. I'm confused. I just looked on crew web and sure enough a line for all of this month.

Probably for consolidation purposes. Happened to everyone in my class. Some guys got a line assigned for a whole month while the rest of us being the majority got trips assigned weekly or so.

Once consolidated, assume your flying will drop off significantly till you get a line.

Thats all.
Plus we now have music when on hold with crew tracking as opposed to the awkward silence before. Clearly we are moving up in the world
