I'm a Mesa pilot and Guard pilot. No issues for me. They have been very accommodating to my Mil schedule.

They're a bit blocked up and the schedules that they initially put out are crazy delayed. That being said, nearly everyone from our class got moved up and adjusted to only a couple weeks-ish.

Ex: I had a 2 month break scheduled, then a CA upgrade dropped out and I ended up with a 4 day break between oral and sim.

We were taxiing near the approach end of 8 at PHX yesterday afternoon as a Mesa -900 landed. From the excessively high pitch attitude and flare height, I could tell it wasn't going to be pretty. I mean, sure, you have to flare the -900 way more than a -200 or even a -700, but this thing looked like it was a piston seaplane trying to get on the step.

Sure enough, it gave up the ghost maybe 10 feet off the deck and dropped in. Darn thing hit so hard, the wings flexed dramatically, a few billowing clouds of tire smoke swirled around, and it bounced back into the air, dropped a wing, and then pancaked back onto the ground. Easily the worst 121 landing I've ever seen. And in calm winds, too.

Don't they teach you guys how to land?

*True story, though.

ith the latest standing bid notice that came out today, running some preliminary stuff, EJET CA could hit March 14 hires and CRJ CA looks like it'll touch June or July 14.With the latest standing bid notice that came out today, running some preliminary stuff, EJET CA could hit March 14 hires and CRJ CA looks like it'll touch June or July 14.

Easy for you to say when you're flying a Cessna.

Do you think there will be any bypassing due to flight times, etc? I'm Sept class and I was wondering if I should pool my CA rec letters now or wait.

Well, the master standing bid list looks like it is around a month old, so unless a lot of people have put their bid in the last 30 days, there will be lots of bypassing going on for whatever reason. If I were you I would put in for it now. You never know.

I'm a March '14 hire and am not anywhere close to the required 1000 hrs SIC. I have a feeling there's quite a few others in the same boat.
