Pullout, you seem to have a good grip on the happenings - let me pose this question.
CBA reads you cannot bid into lesser or equal paying equipment than you're already on, and VP of flight ops went out of his way to point out in his letter that the 175 was a 76 aircraft and bidding rights would be governed by the CBA. So, take away seat locks from the discussion for a moment, does that mean a 200 CA in Hawaii can bid the 175, but a 700 CA in ORD cannot? Or is the 175 considered higher paying for all CRJ CA's because the CRJ "base" rate (vacation & reserve pay) is 200 rates for every CRJ pilot? Or... worse yet, is the 175 considered lesser equip. because every CRJ pilot can be tasked to fly a 900 at times?

The only way to transition into the 175 is to upgrade, or if your current equipment (or possibly base) is eliminated.
Also, I'm not sure what you mean by YV has cancellation pay? It's called a monthly guarantee. The guarentee covers you if trips get cancelled, but if you're trying to work past guarentee that means you need to pick up an extra trip to make up the loss. Not that I'm complaining, just setting your facts straight.

I would be sorely dissapointed if they negotiated out Junior Available. It would truly be a huge step backwards.
As far as comparative pay goes, anyone in this industry should know that it goes beyond what you make hourly. i.e. block or better, cancellation pay, etc. Making $10 more per hour doesn't count for squat if your trip is cancelled due to MX or WX and you have no pay protection.
And the bases are IAH and ORD.

. Yeah that's right ... B F E.Why do you get so defensive? FYI I don't bash mesa or it's pilots on here.. Yeah, my airline hired guys with time that low but not in the time period I was talking about. That's all I was pointing out..

Now that we've got the unimportant petty semantic talk out of the way, I truly have no clue how YV is going to staff them with the examples given. I would plan on the worst case scenario of only upgrades being able to bid for it. Then be ecstatic if they did something that would make the entire pilot group happy; like drop the fence completely. Or it could be anything in between. We'll only know when they get here.
We've all experienced/heard of the upper management here. They will do what's best for them in the short term cost scheme without the considerations of long term opportunity cost.

If you actually read the contract, it's on page 3-5 Section G. It's in bold and listed as "Cancellation Pay" for those that can't comprehend this phenomenon.
If any Mesa has a problem with the wording or how the company bent us over on their interpretation, talk to your union reps cause now is the time to get it straight. It's a very simple concept either way.

Is this the current pilot contract ??? Mesa Air Group Pilots, Our Contract
This looks to be an old web page, or one that has not been updated. Here is an article about improved conditions http://www.alpa.org/portals/alpa/abo...MAGPGP2013.pdf.

No one cares about this stuff people. But for your reference in "future" mesa bashing. It was "250-280" hours. Surely No other regional would stoop so low to hire that kinda time?
