Holy crap...you are young. Must be the first job for you. No Regional F/O at any one of them is compensated nor has been compensated accordingly. 40 k a year is still crap. The national median income is 60k I believe.
MY LoRd..It's SLATS part deux!
All those ands and ifs .
I'm gonna feel really bad for everyone that upgrades' into the Left Seat on that in the next year....sucks for them to fly something different. It must be really bad to that the MEC is gonna be negotiating new pay rates and that the majority of the pilot group have already seen the left seat. Pay is on the Forefront...the new type is a mere bonus. Ohhh well its just terrible.

i'm just trying to help newbies be realistic. If one thinks that mesa pilots will get raises or anything in their negotiations to fly these jets, they are crazy. mgmt will use these jets as a reason to take concessions. If one doesn't understand history, they are doomed to repeat it. Also, because these are mainline owned nothing is guaranteed, they always put grey language in to the contracts so they can do whatever they want. If someone doesn't understand this, they don't understand business
I do agree that UAL will have some sort of "grey language " in those contracts .

Since the mods unfairly (but predictably) deleted my response, but not your original flamebait, let me repeat my response slightly nicer. It's utterly clueless of you to have no perspective of what regional pilots and this industry have been through since 2000. Just because you're new and think you have it so good at Mesa
maybe you should do more listening and less talking until you get a deeper perspective. At a regional like ASA where upgrades happen at 8+ years, 13 years isn't that much. The mainline furloughs in the early 2000s and age 65 causing 8 years of stagnation sure didn't help. But the up side is that we have a liveable contract in the even that the economy takes another dump, or there's another terrorist attack and the industry implodes again. I hope it works out for you at Mesa, and I mean that as sarcastically as possible.

I would consider contract 2003 to be a substantial concession to secure flying. (Freedom A's flying). Absolutely necessary, but concessions none the less.

Not to mention ASA and Air whiskey were once places where a career could happen. Mesa was never at that level since they were putting 300 hour Arizona state grads in the right seat when they were growing. The purpose was never for them to stick around. Meanwhile at air Wisconsin the 146 guys signed contract 2000 and had projected captain rates at 136/hour.. Perspective is key here, kids.
Mesa has literally hundreds who have made it a career. Low 100k (20 year scale!) may not be what you or I consider 'career' pay, but for them it is. Like you condescendingly say in your post - perspective is key (kids?).
