This is how Mesa will staff their airplanes.
From a new hire on these boards coming from instructing: "Just an update, I turned down the Skywest possibility because it was in a embraer 120.. I accepted the offer from Mesa flying the CRJ-900 and hoping to get the Phoenix base!! I start July 9th! Thanks for the encouragement guys!"
They are going to have applications stacked to the ceiling now.

Also, mainline owned aircraft ,the 30-e175's in this case, can be whipsawed AT WILL through loopholes in the contract

This kid is an idiot, PHX is very senior, it'll be a while until he gets it. He'll probably get IAD. AND, skywest just announced a september and october CRJ class. So, he turned down an offer at a regional that is known for treating its employees close to the best in the industry to one that treats its employees near the worst?

Yes, that is the only detractor to this great news... That United owns them. Hopefully we keep them for a long while.

Sulkair's speculation that all 30 EMB's go to IAH is more than likely true. However, his math skills are not very good. Mesa has about 290 active FO's (according to ALPA) now add 350 additional pilots to cover expansion, another 100 or so to cover 117 then add two years worth of attrition...he may be in CLT but that guy won't see third year FO pay unless he chooses it.

I hope it doesn't happen, but Mesa has a reputation of hiring, losing contracts, furloughing and downgrading. The fact that United owns the 175s and can shuffle them around at will would concern me.
