Sulkair's speculation that all 30 EMB's go to IAH is more than likely true. However, his math skills are not very good. Mesa has about 290 active FO's (according to ALPA) now add 350 additional pilots to cover expansion, another 100 or so to cover 117 then add two years worth of attrition...he may be in CLT but that guy won't see third year FO pay unless he chooses it.
We've got ~650 active pilots now if you count instructors, people in class and on IOE. So exhibit "A" would theoretically get number 651 if he gets hired today, right?
Now lets put another 350 pilots under him as you spell out for expansion, and even another 100 to cover 117. Now he's number 651 out of 1100 pilots. Theoretically Captains will represent the first 550 pilots, FO's the last 550. So lets say the most junior CA is 600 just cause not all FO's upgrade.
Now attrition. Lets say 10 a month for 2 years equals 240 pilots. So now after 2 years he's 651 minus 240 = 411 out of 1100 pilots. Oh wow!, you're right - he WILL be a Captain in under 2 years.

Hitting this right= being 3 years deep at a regional that pays good and not even being old enough to upgrade yet... Don't be jealous

Something else interesting is the 350 hiring number. If you look at the number of aircraft that works our to 5.8 per seat. That might work under present rules, but under part 117 that isn't going to work. Going to be interesting to see what Mesa's performance will be under 117 if they try and staff that way after January 1.

It could go like the last round of flying united awarded them and the performance was so bad they awarded them to someone else. These are united airframes and they can do with them what they want! Chase that upgrade!

Dude, what are you even referring to? 1999 Or something? We've been operating 700s for United for years, and have been their top performer.

Half are going to IAH and half to ORD. As far as the low pay in two years; hopefully there will be a new contract with better pay by then. However if they keep filling classes, it is highly unlikely the company will have motivation to raise pay. Time will tell.

that's IF mesa actually sees all 30 of those 175's on property(doubtful), AND they miraculously are able to staff them (doubtful), AND if United decides to let mesa operate the 175's for the full length of the agreement without whipsawing them to someone else (doubtful). That's an awful lot of grey area
All those ands and ifs .
I'm gonna feel really bad for everyone that upgrades' into the Left Seat on that in the next year....sucks for them to fly something different. It must be really bad to that the MEC is gonna be negotiating new pay rates and that the majority of the pilot group have already seen the left seat. Pay is on the Forefront...the new type is a mere bonus. Ohhh well its just terrible.
