Have to say, hotels seem nicer now than they did in the CLT days.

I'd imagine the AA hotels are better because rumor has it that flying makes us a lot more money than the UAL 175 flying; the hotels on the United side have taken a complete turn for the worst.

Yep! All of us east coast IAH people have been hoping and asking for that for almost two years!

Mesa is the only airline who puts crews in second/third-tier hotels still--there are ZERO other flight crew on almost ALL of our hotel vans on every single overnight. For good reason.

If you're ok with spending half of your life sleeping and showering in borderline-inhumane squalor, and your life outside of work is like sleeping in a van by the river, then yeah--you'll fit in just fine. But if you like sleeping on linens that were cleaned before you arrived, and you like being able to walk around your hotel room barefoot with zero consideration or second thoughts about contracting a fungal infection/stepping on a used needle, or someone else's reproductive fluids? Probably need to stay away from here--not worth the 3-4 year upgrade (which is comparable to any other regionals' upgrade, fyi).

Save yourself the fungal infections and bedbug infestations--go somewhere that puts you in hotels equal or better to your living conditions at home. You'll contract at least 1-2 exotic fungal skin infections at Mesa per year with our current hotels. I am not exaggerating at all--prior121 and multiple other pilots here will back me up on this 100%.

If you value your health and safety you will not accept a job here. Hard facts--but true. Sorry if that "real talk" cuts through all the flashy recruitment vids and promises of quick upgrades, but it's true. Find a wholly-owned and go there--don't come here. I've been in this racket long enough to know when something is about to trend downwards--you do not need to come here and stay in third-world living conditions just to get a quick upgrade and move on to mainline. Plenty of other places will pay you well, put you up in Hyatts, Hiltons, Marriotts and upgrade you just as quickly.

You're welcome for this piece of advice that will make your life better now and in the future.
How many fungal infections have you contracted? Some of our hotels really suck, but you are delusional if you think other regionals stay at only 4/5 star hotels. Hell even AA stays at the pear treen inn. The guys only other option is comutair and silver at IAD. You would prefer to fly beat up old dashes flying 30 minute hops all day?

AA does not stay at Pear Tree STL and never has. Stop lying and trying to sugar-coat anything negative ever said about YV on here. You're a recruiter, right? Not joking iirc you are/were a recruiter?

US Airways was using Pear Tree STL as their short-stay back in the day. You were prob at FlightSafety circa late 2014/early 2015 and so you saw a US Airways crew and you're running with that to spin your recuirtment agenda on here. Post-integration I highly, highly doubt AA pilots will ever be seen there again, but I'll check. Stating that AA pilots stay there--when you know it was pre-merger US Airways crews--that's basically a lie. Stop the spin and the lies.

30-minute hops all day? That's exactly what our 700 fleet in IAD is gradually trending towards, now that the EJet is taking over most of their 2+ hour flights.

Sorry--just trying to give these new hires real talk in a sea of recruiter-types whose only interest is keeping the classroom full. Please stop lying--AA never stayed at Pear Tree STL. And yes--I have gotten fungal infections, bug-bites, and gotten sick from black mold exposure in our hotels. Mesa worked out for me personally--I like working here. But the pitifiul downward trend in hotels has become a problem for a lot of us, despite the quick upgrades we all got after coming here from slower-moving regionals.

Prospective new hires need to understand the living conditions they will be exposed to as a new hire here. I am trying to inform them.

You're entitled to your free speech on an anonymous internet forum, giggity, but it's pretty obvious that your brain is in a confirmation bias loop--all you do on here is try to rationalize away any bad points/cons/problems with Mesa. And that my friend is why nothing will ever change here--there are way too many yes men like you who put up with horrible hotels and rationalize away the bed bug that hitchhikes back home with you and infests your home--all because you stumbled into a quick upgrade at Mesa. It's kind of sad and pathetic if you really consider what I'm saying here. You're better than this giggity--we all are. You're better than a LaQuinta--you deserve better.

Interesting observation. I'll trade you nicer hotels for 15 days off a month! 😉
Our hotel guys have been doing a great job, I don't know how they aren't burnt out yet

I had one back in March and had to go to the urgent care to get it checked out. I caught a bad viral infection at that nasty training hotel in STL last month, toughed it out through training, and am just now getting over it. If it weren't for the fact that there is a wait for 175 IOE then I would have been on FMLA leave the past couple of weeks getting over whatever it is I caught at the ******* hole. Hell I even had to get blood drawn just last week when I went to see the doctor. Turns out it was nothing serious, but still I shouldn't have to go through all of that because my company is too cheap to put up their employees in a clean accommodation.

I remember one time, probably an "Airport Inn", $19.99 a night, I wore white tube socks in the Mesa approved hotel, and the bottom of my socks were almost black and sticky from only a few hours of walking around in the hotel room. I was so disgusted, I almost threw-up, and just threw the socks out. Now I wear my shoes all times in our Mesa approved hotels.

AA hotels are better because the ALPA hotel comitte chair and volunteers are mostly on the CRJ and based in DFW.
