Looks like in addition to the poor contract and low pay at Mesa we can now add recruiters being an issue. I have a buddy who lives in Phoenix so he wanted Mesa for the potential to be in base. He's been trying to reach out to a gentleman named Keynan and can't get any info from him. Infact, it's taken so long he's accepted a gig with Compass. Before anyone goes on lecturing about the contract, pay and benifits my point was Mesa had a shot at a Phoenix local but managed to blow it. Just another fine example of the ship taking on water in large amounts.

I think he is refering to Midland TX. Another crew favorite hotel that we are loosing in the near future.
The hotel there had a nice aircrew lounge located off the lobby for Mesa, Skywest, and Expressjet crews. There wasn't many good food choices nearby, so the hotel had free snacks, sodas, and even beer until recently.

The reason we "lose" hotels is pretty simple. We have contracts with all the hotels we stay at, every year those contracts come up for renewal. In the case of MAF, and the Overton in LBB, and a handful of others that crews enjoyed that we no longer stay at, the contract was re-negotiated and the price per room per night went up. Similar to when you renew your lease. Mesa in their infinite wisdom that crew comfort and happiness is second to saving a dollar and we left those properties.

You assume that because he's reaching out he's guaranteed the job. Has he tried leaving a voice mail or maybe emailing pilot recruiting. Where I come from when you call and you really want to get in touch with someone you leave a voice mail. Just saying. It's too bad you lost out on the 10k
