This is actually a benefit we get at Mesa. They tell us no to satisfy AA, but do not enforce it. The benefit is that they don't enforce it. It makes up for not paying for KCM.

Mesa makes it super easy to get into the right seat. Training was a lot of fun and you will make new friends. Once in IOE, the **** starts and wears you down in a month. You get your first paycheck without the training pay ($250 a week) and figure out after all the expenses of having the job ( hotels/crash pad, parking, expensive food in airports, tips to hotel drivers, etc, etc) You have NO money left over to enjoy any time off you have. After 2 months of this, $50k a year plus a fat sign on bonus is irresistible and you will start the whole training process over somewhere else. Save yourself a ton of time and energy, go to the airline where you will end up....FIRST! Mesa is bleeding pilots that have been there just a month or two. If you have someone that is helping you financially, hope that relationship stays solid or you will be sleeping in your car, if you have one.

This is not a joke, flight attendants have it worse. It's my understanding some are homeless. They work a ton so they stay at hotels during the trip and sleep in the crew room when not.

All of above is true. With the moral here you will become jaded and hate flying. We have no scdugle flexablity none, nada, zilch. no benefits you can afford, 3-4 year upgrade is upon us. I am a second year fo and my senority wont hold ca till my third year. I try to make the best of it but no money to actually spend on days off. Crap maintained equipment. Just dont come here. Take the better qol. Great lakes pays more as does envoy, and sky pest. My apps are out and hope to leave this place by january.

It's pretty easy saying no to 10k and telling my friends to look elsewhere.
So apparently when Mesa pays for the ATP course, it's an additional 4 year contract?

You have obviously never worked for another regional. The moral is bad lol. If you want bad moral try working at republic a couple years ago. 7 year fo's maxed out at 36 bucks with no cancellation pay. 3 year upgrade sounds like pilot abuse.

All I talked to at Republic recently seemed happy now, I know they went thru a lot, but I think times changed there, as it has at many others.

Both groups have good pilot groups. Mesa and Xjet guys/gals have always bent over backwards for people seeking rides to work.

They still have the same crap schedules with plenty of sits and horrible management. Only thing that has changed is better pay and they are probably going to shrink at the end of the year.

"Only thing that has changed is better pay . . . "

Better pay matters. Crazy thing is that pay is the reason most of us come to work.

Get your time and get the heck out as quickly as possible, no matter the regional.
